Sharon on Howard Stern and new music

Sharon and Cindi Lauper were on Howard Stern yesterday and she told Howard, "You should hear Ozzy's new music!" and sounded really excited. Is he recording and has anyone heard anything?

Antworten

so where are his diehard fan sneekie-poo-poo's?

Thanks dark stripes sounds pretty cool. I love the song title, and the whole up & down thing rhythm wise is bad ass, that key element is why I loved sabbath so much. With sabbath you got like songs within songs, about the time you thought you knew where ya was going the whole song would shift and take you in another direction. So I like that aspect, I hope it comes out well....

That news gives me real hope...

Ozzy:"I have no regrets except that I wasn't up to keep Randy (Rhoads) from getting on that plane." (Ozzy Osbourne, Guitar World Issue 37, 2000)

I recently watched a Billboard interview where Ozzy said the new album is coming in March (If I remember correctly). Ozzy said he has done a lot of gamblin with the new album and taking creative risks. The interviewer asked Ozzy what recorded song he is the most proud of on the upcoming album and then Ozzy revealed song Let die, which has according to Ozzy very slow parts and very fast parts and is not a typical Ozzy song. Ozzy didn't have a tittle for the new album yet but said it might be revealed very soon.

Here's the link for the video interview:

http://www.billboard.com/news/video-ozzy-osbourne-is-billboard-s-2009-1004042792.story#/news/video-ozzy-osbourne-is-billboard-s-2009-1004042792.story

Well, with regard to No More Tears wow...I would give it at least a 9. In many ways it blows away Down To Earth for speaking "Ozzy" to me.

I think Mr. Tinkertrain is all right, certainly not a favorite song of Ozzys, but it's ok. I love and groove to these from that album:

1. "Mr. Tinkertrain" - (Osbourne, Wylde, Castillo) 5:55
2. "I Don't Want to Change the World" (Osbourne, Wylde, Castillo, Lemmy Kilmister) - 4:04
4. "Desire" (Osbourne, Wylde, Castillo, Kilmister) - 5:45
5. "No More Tears" (Osbourne, Wylde, Mike Inez, Castillo, John Purdell) - 7:23

and I really really really (continue on, come back 3 hours later still saying) really love these songs:

3. "Mama, I'm Coming Home" (Osbourne, Wylde, Kilmister) - 4:11
7. "Hellraiser" (Osbourne, Wylde, Kilmister) - 4:51
8. "Time After Time" (Osbourne, Wylde) - 4:20

but the cherry on the cake for me? "The" song of the album? I just really love this song. I just do.

11. "Road to Nowhere" - (Osbourne, Wylde, Castillo) 5:09

I think if you listen just to the lyrics, Time After Time and Road to Nowhere are incredible songs. (and, since I haven't the album and had to watch YouTube video's...have I said in awhile how very much I love Ozzy lately?) lol. just a phenomenal performer. but it's all in his eyes. he just seems so funny and approachable. crazy man!

I can't seem to see you baby ... although my eyes are open wide ... but I know I'll see you once more ... when I see you, I'll see you on the other side

In regards to Black Rain, I didn’t think it was awful or anything. I just didn’t dig the whole industrial vibe it had; some of the music reminded me of N.I.N with Ozzy singing instead of Trent Reznor. Then lyrically I found it to be really juvenile in parts, but keep in mind that is my opinion, and for those of you who enjoyed it then by all means rock on! B.R. just didn’t do much for me as have some of Ozzy’s past efforts. And if Ozzy is working with the producer that is responsible for Black Rain, ya Scape isn't real wild about that. I instead hope Ozzy finds someone a bit better, or that this guy will wake up and push Ozzy for the ultimate sound, delivery!

As for solo Ozzy and his albums I am going to critic each one for you here, that way in the future you guys all know kind of where I stand on them.

Blizzard of Ozz & Diary of a Madman

10 Star

Obviously it doesn’t get much better than this when wanting to hear Ozzy the way he was meant to be. Other than his work with Sabbath these two albums are a great testimony of his greatest work. Randy being a part of it, as well as Daisley & Kerslake give these first two albums an epic sound that still sounds as fresh and relevant, and if you can believe it or not 29 to 28 years have passed since their original release..

Now that's epic for ya!

(CONTINUED)

Speak of the Devil

10 Star

Any true Ozzy or Sabbath head will completely cheese out when listening to this album. And for us old enough to remember that the only decent recordings we had back then were the original releases, fully appreciates the fact that speak of the devil was a gift from the gods when it came out! It was such a thrill for me to hear all those old songs redone and sounding so damn heavy, done in a more contemporary moment. As great as those entire old Sabbath recordings are, production and sound quality was way lacking back then. So speak of the devil is a mater piece as far as I am concerned, and a great time piece capturing Ozzy at his best vocally!

Bark at the Moon

9 Star

I remember waiting for this album with such enthusiasm. Randy was gone and most of us fans were so afraid, or worried if Ozzy could do it like he had in the past with Randy on Blizzard & Diary. I was really proud of Ozzy for not faltering with this first album after Randy’s death. Bark at the Moon was great then, and is still one of Ozzy’s best efforts. Even though it sounds a little dated by today’s standards it still remains to be a brilliant album! It also showed that Ozzy could deliver with singing ballads, so tired and you’re no different from me still make the hair on my neck stand up today. And who can be a fan of Ozzy’s and not just love waiting for darkness! Jake E. Lee I thought worked well with Ozzy, and did a fine job of filling Randy’s shoes. Granite Jake was no randy Rhoads, but with that said Jake is, was a great guitarist for Ozzy!

Ultimate Sin

5 Star

I loved the sound of this album upon its initial release, but as Ozzy has made it known in these later years this album lacks a lot in its production and over all sound, majorly dating it. Ozzy hates it so much I believe it may not be in print anymore, not sure if that’s still true, or if Ultimate has even been cleaned up and re-mastered. It may not be due to Ozzy not being happy with it. My suggestion would be go back and record it all over again, and release it the way he wished it had sounded to start with. As for how I personally feel about it now, I still enjoy some of the tracks, but at least half of the album I don’t really dig anymore, on a scale of 1-10 I give it a 6 or 7…

No Rest for the Wicked

6 Star

This is the point where I started to notice that the names of the songs were getting a bit juvenile, a bit silly, for example bloodbath for paradise & crazy babies is a wee bit cheesed out. However I love Hero & Fire in the Sky, today when I visit that album it’s those songs that take me back there. Miracle Man is also an awesome song, and represents where Ozzy’s head was at during that time frame, you know the whole PMRC, organized religion and animal activists groups that were way up his ass back then, good times! I just loved it! lol

No More Tears

4 Star

This album bummed me out completely. I remember seeing the video for the song no more tears and thinking this album is going to be great. Went and bought it, brought it home and the rest of the album sounded nothing like the title song.. Again the song titles were really cheesed out, I didn’t get the whole Mr. Tinker Train thing, or Zombie Stomp, in the end this is probably my least liked album out of Ozzy’s entire library.

Ozzmosis

10 Star

Love it when it came out, & I love it even now! For me it was the most sincere effort Ozzy had made in a long while, and the packaging was great. Reminded me of Ozzy when he was in Sabbath, and the song titles as well as the writing was great. Personally I think it’s the best work Zakk has ever done while he was with Ozzy. This album was, & is still a f***in’ master piece!

Down to Earth

8 or 9 Star

Again great album, kind of picked up were Ozzmosis left off. I loved the sound, and the song writing, as Ozzmosis had done it made me really proud of Ozzy. I didn’t find it to be as edgy as Ozzmosis was, or as heavy, but none the less a damn fine album!

Black Rain

5 Star

You all know by now my feelings on this one, so I won’t be redundant, lol….

Anyway that’s my view of his library of solo work. And don’t take offense if you disagree with me. Just remember we all have our own personal taste, and wants when it comes to music…

Later all!

Ozzy:"I have no regrets except that I wasn't up to keep Randy (Rhoads) from getting on that plane." (Ozzy Osbourne, Guitar World Issue 37, 2000)

and hey Scapes, i can't believe you don't like the Black Album. I love it. guess that's what makes each of us take the wallet out for different stuff. i wasn't as thrilled with the St. Anger album, so i hear you there, but the Black Album was some GREAT stuff. pfft! i like many of Ozzy's albums after the first two, and I like that one. I also like S&M by Metallica. you're probably groaning? lol.

why gimpnoid? darling? pull the fluff out of your ears...those baby chicks may be getting too much fluff n stuff in those ear canals of yours... let me repeat myself. "I'd rather say why not let Ozzy go into the future with an open door to whatever and whenever the urge hits him to do something in the studio." I don't think it your place, mine, or anybody BUT the man himself to do that thinking process for him. And I think it far less gracious to state what you said initially because it implies a timeline and resolution FOR Ozzy. I wish people would just leave that TO Ozzy.

hey blades ,,just the grapevine,,it didnt come from ozzy that i know of,,and i hope there are more albums myself ,,but he is a father and one day a grandfather,,and i see two sides of the coin,,one ---being a fan i hope he does albums till the end,,--two being a father and one day a grandfather myself , i hope he will put his time into that,, and im sure he'd be sick of being poked and proded by the paparazzi,,as those fuks suck balls and turn average life into a spectical,i know if i was famous, i would want my last years away from that s***, to kik back relax and enjoy the fruits of ones labour( meaning family),,,so to conclude here ,, two more albums is very fine with me,,,,what ever ozzy does is fine with me,,and im happy,,wether you think my last post stinks or not,,no faze here,,,and blades if you were in ozzy shoes what would you do ,,, he has given us his life,,should we as fans give him some back

--
gimpnoid ,,the ledgend grows LOL

i know you *Scape* said something about not liking the producer of Black Rain, and that is who Ozzy is working with at this time. Are you worried that what he's doing in the studio with Gus G isn't going to bring about good stuff? i'm very curious what the sound is..Sharon said Ozzy is very excited so i'm keeping an open mind that brilliance will emerge. seems like it always does! i love more than his first two albums though, but i do see kind of a departure from his unique style in the last three. it's okay though, because they were equally tight and fantastic too. i want to see the talent the man has oozing from every cell unleashed as much as you say too. Ozzy is beautiful when he's on fire with passion for what he's doing. what red-blooded, Ozzy music luvin' woman (or man) wouldn't say "bring it on?" lol. i want to see him unleashing that until he just feels too tired to do it anymore.

and *gimp*...not to be @nal, but who says "as (unfortunatly) this will be his last albums,,". Serious, 100%, where do you get that from? are we repeating what has been stated as opinion? or show me exactly where the man has said that himself.

i think if he's sober, feeling the artistic bug up his @ss, who says this and another are his last?

me? i get very annoyed when that is stated. I'd rather say why not let Ozzy go into the future with an open door to whatever and whenever the urge hits him to do something in the studio.

--
Darkblade is feeling annoyed...why do i have to repeat this over & over. see, opinions, well, they're like @ssholes, everyone has one, and sometimes they stink.

i know ozzy can fukin do it too---- a materpiece of all masterpieces,,and you know i think thats what he wants, as (unfortunatly) this will be his last albums,,and to end his recording days with a legendary feel to a legendary guy and a legendary life,,well bottom line for me is ,i hope he does what he wants,,and i'll be as happy as a gimp in a gimpsuit

--
gimpnoid ,,the ledgend grows LOL

I hear you loud n clear with the few that frequent the websites with the Dio and Ozzy comparisons, however I have ran across a few in recent years. You know at shows, and out and about. Of course some I have encountered are naive as hell due to their age, but I would say half I have encountered are in my opinion old enough to know better, and as far as I am concerned the young ones don’t have much of an excuse in this day n age due to the internet, you get me?

As for Sharon I am unsure of how Ozzy & her work, or better put work off of each other. I do know this in a short note she did essentially save him from his own self destructive tendencies, and I do thank her for that!

Addiction is a horrible cross to bear; I know I have carried that load a few times throughout my life. It didn’t really stop, or better said I didn’t stop until the bad far out weighed the good, basically hitting rock bottom is what it took for me to get right.

With regard to your ex, I commend you for getting smart and keeping the relationship platonic, at a distance. One of the wisest sayings in life is its all about the company you keep, and you can’t get any more right on with that outlook, perspective on life.

Like I sated in my last posting my real concern is who Ozzy gets to produce, if anyone. If he does decide not to produce it himself then I hope who ever he gets for the task will have the integrity to push Ozzy into giving it his all, and to get back to his roots with the song writing and arrangement and sound that he had in his early days with Randy. Now I don’t want the new material to sound exactly like the Randy years, but at some level at least comparable to what he was doing then.

With this being the end, his final goodbye, I think the last recordings should be as good, if not hopefully better than anything he has done since. No one can argue the longevity of those early Ozzy albums, to this day they sound phenomenal, so much so it still manages to give you the goose bumps when listening to them, hair raising! I know he has it in him to do just that, like John Lennon when it comes to putting music together he is a genius, especially knowing how to sing over any given melody, he truly is one of the masters!

So age, wealth, or his health being good or bad, I feel if Ozzy gets inspired enough then the magic we know as Osbourne will be fully delivered. I would love to see Rick Rubin work with him, Rick has a way of bringing an artist back creatively to the highest point of their career, and to me as well as many Ozzy fans he was untouchable during the early 80’s with Randy! So it is there I would tell Ozzy he needs to work from, do these next two albums as if none of the others existed, instead believe you are doing the album that should have followed diary. Rubin told Metallica to do that exact thing when he asked them when they last felt they ruled the world, their response was justice, and with Rick’s advice we got death magnetic instead of a St. Anger, or a Black Album… That is my hope with Ozzy and his final recordings, that he gives us something that will live for the ages untarnished and continually representing some of his greatest work ever!

I am sure we can all agree the inspiration back then with the first two albums came mostly from Randy for Ozzy, so my suggestion is for Ozzy to find either a guitar player, or producer that can provide that kind of support, the creative drive.

I as well as the majority of Ozzy fans out there would just love for that to f***in’ happen, just one more time Ozzy once again shows us not how you simply make a great rock n roll album, but instead an epic rock master piece!

I don't just believe, I know he can f***in' do it!

Ozzy:"I have no regrets except that I wasn't up to keep Randy (Rhoads) from getting on that plane." (Ozzy Osbourne, Guitar World Issue 37, 2000)

Then you have this weird fetish thing with some people wanting to compare Ronnie James up to an ozzy Osbourne?

i understand.

the element of venom is strong. i have the feeling it is one or two Dio/Iommi fans that spew stuff online. one has been on this site, as OzzyJohn all jumbled up. if others are saying anything, i wouldn't give it any mind. i think it a very small fringe that is making things ugly and trying to make it seem like (by their dedication to smear every Ozzy article) that it's widespread.

their posts are not a good reflection of decency or respect or maturity. rather than argue minutia on those sites, pointing out the lack of respect for the man who is part of the legend of Sabbath, and who has had a stellar solo career (which i might add is on-going) would appear in order.

there is no denying Ozzy himself f***ed up with prescription and other drugs and drinking. that it has altered the man that faces the world can't be argued. that said, however, i don't think him a dumb f#ck by any measure. nor less talented. it is a great thing that he's been clearing his head and body chemistry.

Sharon should have ensured that as his manager certainly, as his wife without a doubt years ago. perhaps if she had the vacancy sign wouldn't be there, and certainly the effects would not have been so devastating. if there is a soul "responsible" i would say it would be with wife of a man clearly self-destructing and unable to stop. that she did not, nay, that she CHOSE not to and yet developed the rage and hatred she spewed forth in Extreme i have an extremely rough time with. real love, from the heart, sometimes means tough choices. and risking losing what you hold dear. it means putting them and what is going on with them FIRST -even if doing that means you will lose them. i think her fear of losing Ozzy should he get his $hit together is what guided her choices. and now, today, with the issues sustained drug abuse have caused, the dependency factor that is going on between them i think suits her desire for having Ozzy all to herself perfectly.

i have lived with a man (not my husband as your response mistook lol) who had similar characteristics and whom i have been wildly, crazily, and deeply in love with...and? within 6 months living together told him to get it together or move on. over six years that has been the chorus, because he's gone away and come back but always by lessening and lessening degree holding on to the crutch.

he's in prison right now, in a min yard, that has a focus on mental health and drug addiction/alcoholism. my not standing by accepting self-destruction from him were part of that but his own actions and denial led him there. and you know something? maybe some people need that end of the line to finally get their $hit together. i don't want anything to do with him now, because he proved himself unsafe. however, i do remain a friend, and am praying he discover the honesty to really set himself free. i cannot help that i love him, but REAL LOVE? means that I will walk away rather than sit living with someone killing themself drop by drop in front of me and not saying a thing.

I can't seem to see you baby ... although my eyes are open wide ... but I know I'll see you once more ... when I see you, I'll see you on the other side

Well hon I am essentially like your husband with regards to black rain, I was also disappointed with black rain as a whole. There were some things I liked about it, the imagery was killer, and the best I have seen from Ozzy in a long time to be very honest, great cover! But the music rode a bit to close to the industrial side, very mechanical in parts, kind of cold, in turn leaving me with a somewhat cold and empty feeling of dissatisfaction. But despite that and some of his past songs not really speaking to me I love him as much now as always, its Ozzy Osbourne, he has reached that iconic point in which even when he falters some its of no real importance, just as you compared him with Paul McCartney, its freakin’ Paul McCartney no more really needs to be said other than that!. lol

As for the idiots, its not the young kids that I have trouble with, its those who are my age or older than frustrate me, you know the ones who should know better than to complain and throw stones at this point of Osbourne’s career. It’s like unforgivable to me almost, I mean what is the problem, do they expect him to never grow old, to never enjoy his success, seems a bit harsh, and also a whole lot selfish when you get down to the nitty gritty of it all…

Then you have this weird fetish thing with some people wanting to compare Ronnie James up to an ozzy Osbourne???? Which I think it does a great discredit to both men when you go & do that. The only thing that Ozzy & RJD have in common is Sabbath, and singing metal, outside of that they are nothing alike. If you are going to compare Dio up to Ozzy then why not throw in Phil from Pantera, or Tom from Slayer, the comparison is absurd, you do get my point?

The thing is Ozzy was so huge for me in my youth, bigger than life itself, and next to Gene Simmons of Kiss which was my first influence musically it is these two guys that introduced me to a whole new world. Gene set the spark, and Ozzy fanned the flames, so most of what I hold sacred as far as image, sound, and the integrity there in when making music, well it is Ozzy who taught me all that. Even though consciously I may not ever make the comparison of Ozzy & Sabbath up against another band or artist secretly in my heart I always do. That’s what gets a band a passing grade from me, is it Sabbath worthy, if yes then off we go, if not then I wipe my ass on it and toss it completely away! lol

So Ozzy is much more than just some old hippie from a band called black Sabbath in the late 60’s & 70’s that went on and had a successful solo career. To me he is the Alpha & the Omega of hardcore music, and when he passes on a huge part of that mystic and magic that metal has always had will also fade away. True hard rock will never die, but a lot of the magic that it has, and the appeal of it has been carried and furnished by none other than Ozzy f***in’ Osbourne!

Ozzy:"I have no regrets except that I wasn't up to keep Randy (Rhoads) from getting on that plane." (Ozzy Osbourne, Guitar World Issue 37, 2000)

~*

i understand.

some thoughts from what you wrote...

the man i was with for a long time, he was also a lifelong fan, and he did not like Ozzy's last album Black Rain. his words on the "I'm Not Going Away" song were "what's with that voice?" he bought the CD and listened to it for some time, but did not in the end like it. so when he was done, into my player it went and sits with me in my car ready for play periodically on my long drive to work. as to opinion, i came out with a different impression. i think it's brilliant. yes, no doubt it's different. doesn't sound like a damned thing i've heard anywhere else. it is hands down the work of seriously mature, master musicians. that's what is so cool about it. it's magnificent. the layers of sound and thought that went into it are very well done.

i know it gets frustrating to hear the idiots out there, the ones who (well, i won't repeat what you said, that kind of gave me the willies with regard to the necrophilia part)...but you know what ya said. but after the hairs settle on your back, and i personally know firsthand (well not the hair part, but the annoyance one) how that feels, when all is said and done do you really give a flying f#ck what twenty year olds grooving to some of the most IDIOTIC bands to pollute the airwaves since disco say? seems to me the criticisms merely repeat the same old things over and over, like a broken record.

Ozzy is Ozzy. whatever the man does, I love him. I think getting sober and clearer in his brain is not detraction from anything, but an extreme positive because now we will hear something we haven't in years. i don't like seeing a zombie drugged out, with nobody home upstairs. that he's coming back from the abyss is beautiful...i've missed him.

i don't think prophetically that these are his last things to the world. s***, if he puts great stuff out there, and fans buy it? why should he stop. like Ozzy says, McCartney still has a brilliant product out on the market. if that is any example, so many years after he was expected to fade away into oblivion, but hasn't? Ozzy has many many things left to share with the world.

just like he paved the way in the past with his music as a young man with winking dimples, he, along with Paul and a few others are paving the way to when musicians are viable, you know? who the f#ck says they can't play to fans at the point of extreme mastery in their lives IF THEY STILL HAVE THE s***?

--
I can't seem to see you baby ... although my eyes are open wide ... but I know I'll see you once more ... when I see you, I'll see you on the other side

In my diatribe I failed to answer this question I think...

Do I think Ozzy deserves to do what he wants to do, why yes I do believe he has earned that right. However I believe Ozzy wants what I want, he wants his legacy to stay true and as untarnished as possible. In fact I know he feels strongly about that fact due to his not wanting to really finish a new sabbath album, or to make a new sabbath album a reality.

Don't ever under estimate the fact that Ozzy is a purest at heart when it comes to what he does best, music! Because Ozzy Osbourne is, and has always been the real f***in' deal!

And it is in that I place all my hopes and faith in him kicking ass in these final days! Ozzy needs to understand that if his heart isn't really in it anymore, and if he just wants to chill then by all means do just that. But for heavens sake don't go and do another album, especially what you claim may be your last and not go and blow a complete f***in' wad!

That is why I am putting my feelings and desires out here, cus I pray Ozzy may stumble across this and seriously think on it all before releasing another album or two... I don't have second thoughts on his ability to do it, I just have reservations about who he may take advice from, or who may have his ear doing the making of the next two albums. I just want someone close to him to tell him the truth about what he is doing, and whether it is truly good or not, in other words I hope he has someone close to push him and inspire him this last time around..

Nothing would please me more than to see Ozzy Osbourne go out in total and utter glory! And I believe when it comes right down to it Ozzy & I want the same damn thing!

Ozzy:"I have no regrets except that I wasn't up to keep Randy (Rhoads) from getting on that plane." (Ozzy Osbourne, Guitar World Issue 37, 2000)

Well f_darkbladeus essentially we are both on the same page with Ozzy not particularly having to prove s*** in the matter of him being or not being a pioneer and a living legend. However it seems you have misconstrued what I meant by my lil rant….

What you should understand is I love this man; a hero is not enough to express my admiration for what he has given me in this mundane existence called a life. Yet with all that said and put to the side I still must say this.

It simply breaks my heart that slowly over the years, and yes I am aware not all of us feel this way yet still keep in mind a whole lot of us do, that is in some way Ozzy has lost some of his original spark and flair that he once owned! Now don’t take what I just stated there wrong, let me further explain all that. The thing is this, do I admire him and what he has done for our genre of music any less because he has written or released some music that I particularly didn’t enjoy, or understand the direction there of. The answer to that question is an absolute hell f***ing no! However on the flip side of that coin should I not notice it or comment upon it just because I love what he’s done for us all these years, and not state what I believe would be an awesome move for him to make right here in what appears to be his final goodbye to us, the end??? Again the answer to all that is another absolute hell f#ckin’ no.

Of course I as well as most of us here write what I truly feel about Ozzy, & for some of us it is very intimate and heart felt and sincere, and for others sadly its often full of either bulls*** hate or what I just write off as plain ole jealously. With that said then why is it we write our postings in the manner in which we most often do? I think I know why, its because deep in the depths of all our souls we genuinely hope even though it is highly improbable that by some small chance Ozzy himself or Sharon may come across one of our postings, and if so maybe then they will & can take into consideration what we feel & think about him.

So with that established let’s move even further more……

In my experience a positive criticism is great for damn sure, but the negative criticism we may receive in life is even more important I trust, because when an individual is made aware of what they are perhaps doing wrong, or neglecting at, well it is then that they may have the power to rectify the fact and move forward, for what would be in Ozzy’s case an even greater feed back of love & support from his fans. Or our case it would come from work, home, or better relationships with our friends & family…

So this is what & still is what I am trying to pass on here within this thread….

Ozzy is undeniably the master & forefather of modern day metal music, and those who fail to see that now, or want to jump on this weird bandwagon of lets trash on Ozzy in the twilight of his career will in some years down the road when he’s eventually gone will be wanting to suck his cold hard dick right the f*** off. While Michael Jackson’s death didn’t at all affect me on a personal level it did however manage to teach me this much. That in death all your sins seem to be absolved, & odd as that statement may seem to be ironically it seems to ring true in most circumstances…

I want it understood right here, & right now!

Ozzy needn’t to prove a sh#tin’ ass thing to me, and as far as I am concerned he needn’t do any more albums at all, it’s utterly irrelevant at this point of his career, in fact his library of music could have stopped with Sabbath and I would still feel the same way about him. All I pray for is if he chooses to continue on that he do it with the utmost integrity! That is my one small but heart felt request!

If Ozzy continues on with making new music that he just gives it all he’s got! To leave us all on a high note, the highest f#ckin’ note that he can deliver! Not only doing it for us life long fans that honestly deserve that from him, but it only seems fitting he leave the stage the same way he entered upon it, and that’s with a sound that will never grow old, and never rings any less true from one generation to the next!.

Ozzy’s long term legacy deserves that much I think! I mean damn its Ozzy Osbourne we are all talkin’ about here, not some tool that likes to call him self Sting for f*** sake!!!!

Ozzy created the standard in which all metal heads measure all music up to, not just other musicians’ & artists, but their own music & bands as well.

So I hope you better understand what I was trying to articulate. I am not questioning the past, I am only a little nervous & apprehensive about the future that’s all….

Ozzy:"I have no regrets except that I wasn't up to keep Randy (Rhoads) from getting on that plane." (Ozzy Osbourne, Guitar World Issue 37, 2000)

Ozzy needs to show everybody he is the man when it comes to heavy music

the way i see it, Ozzy has already done that. nothing more needs said. all that is to come is the whipped cream and cherry on the sundae. he's gold, his music is gold. i don't care if it is heavy or melodic or thought provoking. he's Ozzy, whatever it is, it comes out DAMN good.

and if he is going to go, then by damn it go out with a bang not some lame ass whimper! f*** this I am happy, sober, and content with my life as it is now horse s***!

Hmmm...that sounds alot like the prophecy of doom and gloom and resentment of so many fans into the party hardy life with Godsmack. You know, when they wove introspection, healing and recovery into their music for Godsmack IV.

According to Sully Erna: "This is the first time I’ve been totally honest, speaking the truth about real situations," he says. "In the past I was always pointing a finger, whether at myself or someone else, but I’ve come clean with myself and the people I can now love and care about. ...This record is about the light at the end of the tunnel, coming out of that funk, recognizing the dark parts of our lives, but committing to finding a way out of them. ... "It’s about being human and having problems. About not being able to lift your head off the pillow, but knowing there’s somebody out there that watches over us and a universe that protects us."

IV was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America, signifying sales of more than 500,000 units. However, in the band official website, they have announced that IV is certified Platinum.

All I know is if it was me they were talking s*** on I would tear some f***in' heads off, and make anyone who doubted my legacy eat their f#ckin' words!

Words carry no meaning when you know the brilliance that is within the man. I think rather than react to a few loud braying idiots, I prefer to just enjoy the man still creating in his studio, providing classics that I love, without worry of whether it is this way or that. I know you love Ozzy Scapes, as in big time, but I want you to think ... isn't it about time he can relax in his life, feel a sense of accomplishment, and put music out there that comes from creativity not pressure to be something someone else wants him to be?

I think he showed the world with his first few albums that being who he is is phenomenal.

Rock on Ozzy Osbourne ~*

Not sure about John 5, who ever it eventually will be I feel fairly secure in the fact that they will be able to rip. As for song writing and the quality there of, that we shall have to see, but again I feel there is a really good chance we will get some truly great tunes.

I love Zakk and have really been blown away with some of the riffs he has written for the BLS library. Some being so awesome in fact I was like where the f#ck is Ozzy by damn it! But for whatever reason Ozzy is hung up on the fact that something he may do will sound too much like BLS, which kind of confuses me in all honesty, because I hear no difference really in the way Zakk plays for Ozzy as compared for what he writes for himself & black label… To me the vocals is what separates bls from sounding like Ozzy with Zakk only playing, but as far as my ear is concerned bls, or Ozzy you know mutha f#ckin’ well its Zakk Wylde you are hearing!

Further more I have a hard time understanding Ozzy not wanting any of his music to sound like Black Sabbath, being a founding father an all and that sound being what made him famous to begin with well for me it only makes sense that he follow up within that same medium, or style. I am not saying it should sound like sabbath hook line and sinker, but I still feel it is pertinent that he maintain some of that original sound, vibe that made us all fall in love with him and his vocals in the first place. Nothing against any of the other founding members of Sabbath but in all honesty most of us kept going back and listening to those songs due to Ozzy's awesome eerie ass vocals, not the mind crushing riffs, or tribal down beats of Bill Ward, and as much as I love Geezer it wasn't solely due to his bass playing. It was Ozzy that drew me back in, that is what I wanted to hear time, and time, and time again.

It always has been that case for most of us fans, especially for those of us that were there from in the beginning... So I wish Ozzy would just accept that fact and just do what is obviously natural for him to do, he shouldn’t feel as if he needs Iommi there in order to do a mean ass f***in' tune. And I mean no disrespect to Iommi by saying any of that, because Iommi is a master, but even he realizes he isn’t a Randy Rhoads or Zakk Wylde. So it’s not as if Ozzy needs Iommi now, or did he ever really need Iommi in order to be successful at doing his thing. Personally I felt that was proven long, long ago with the success of his first two solo albums with Randy, as well as how great things have went throughout his career with each of the different guitar players that he has made music with other than Iommi...

Ozzy needs to just let go man, and find that same energy he had when he was that young John Osbourne struggling to get out of Birmingham England, and just let it roll man, come real with that s*** and knock us all the f*** out like we know he can.

This s*** that he is to old, or not pissed off enough anymore is bulls***, because the one thing that Ozzy needs to be pissed off about right now this very day is all these weak ass critics saying how he is nothing more now than a has been, or a sell out. Ozzy needs to show everybody he is the man when it comes to heavy music, and if he is going to go, then by damn it go out with a bang not some lame ass whimper!

f*** this I am happy, sober, and content with my life as it is now horse s***!

All I know is if it was me they were talking s*** on I would tear some f***in' heads off, and make anyone who doubted my legacy eat their f#ckin' words!

Lesson Session is what Ozzy needs to unleash!

Thanks goat, last i heard was there were goingto be 3 wind-down albums... sounded a bit ambitious but 2 sounds about right. Can't wait to hear his new sound, does anyone know if John 5 is still up for the guitarist position? That would be awesome!

The last report I got on all that was that Ozzy is indeed recording, he even has some tracks that Zakk laid down for him if he chooses to use them, but I don't think he will if he goes with a new guitarist permanently, that's just my hunch..

To my knowledge he is doing two final albums then calling it quits, the one in 2010, followed shortly by the second one, basically like system of a down did with mezmerize & hypnotize... Touring them both essentially, that was my understanding of it all, but I could be mistaken, we shall see (0) (0)

Ozzy is being kind of hush hush here lately, especially as to whether Zakk is definitely a thing of the past or not....

Time will tell I suppose....
