Huntington Beach Book Signing

I went to the HB book signing and waited 6 hours to meet Ozzy and I froze my ace off indoors in fcking 70 degree cold by the magazine section. Just kidding - I met some cool people and all were excited to meet Ozzy.

Since unemployed for months until this week, I spent my last savings buying 2 books to get signed for friends who love his music so much and would appreciate this more than just about anything you could ever give them. So I didn't have money to by myself a book and brought a Blizzard of Oz photo from a press kit I once bought on ebay. A man I met earlier who got called in group E (called by wristband alphabetical letters) told me he saw Ozzy sign an old album even though it said he would only be signing books. This was maybe after waiting 3 hours so it was early on. He offered to lend me money to buy a book but I felt confident I could explain my situation and get him to sign hopefully.

When I finally made it to where Ozzy was sitting, he was surrounded by helpers pushing the line through and local cops in the background. At first the lady tried to grab my photo but I said no. Then another guy took a press kit I brought of my band I had signed to give to the Ozzy in hopes he would exchange and sign mine. I knew he wanted to get the hell out of there and was probably tired. So then the moment turned into me wanting to get this photograph signed and he said he couldn't do it. Next. No time to talk, introduce myself, or personally sign something in the books. It was over and I never got to say THANK YOU!!! ..and as I directed away, there were still hundreds waiting in a winding line behind me.

I wanted to tell him my name was Jack like his Dad and his Son. While I only saw the TV show 2 or 3 times, I loved some of his music beyond words and at 1 time was going to make an Ozzy tribute band called No Bone Movies years prior to the reality TV show. I wanted to tell him a few of the funny stories connected to him and his music, and how much his music meant to my friends( 1 is doing emergency work in Haiti and the other could use it going through a difficult time) and me but I never got the chance. Don't know if he will ever hear the Kabong Shredders of the People disc I gave him, however, 1 of the books he signed is for the other guitar player I recorded with. We love you man!!! Thanks again.
