Ozzy's Black Rain

I listen to Metallica, Trivium, Slipknot, Megadeth and Motorhead. I love all of these bands. I recently walked into a music store and saw the new album 'Black Rain' by Ozzy. Never heard an Ozzy album before . . . I got it for Christmas, and listened to it. There is one word to describe this record. A record by an artist who can afford to fail for the rest of his career. One word:
Amazing . . .
The Prince of Darkness is still at the top of his game. Producing excellent songs. Hard, heavy, with feeling, and still creating solid chorus lines and middle 8 sections. The Ozzy band are awesome. Great sound and amazing guitar work. The drumming is also world class.
Ozzy's Black Rain: I loved it, and I want more!

Black Rain is phenomenal. Music of masters. Zakk was not "aced" out of the new album. Last I checked he was largely unavailable for his BLS commitments to enter the studio, and I recall an article where his attitude to me anyways was a bit arrogant about his contributions to Ozzy music. Now I love Zakk, but that is Gods honest truth. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and that is mine from what I read.

Since the topic was brought up, do any of us know the ins and outs of the interactions of Lee and Bob with Ozzy? From what I understand, they were hired to support Ozzy as session players. Nothing more, and that was up front. They had agreed to it. Now, that doesn't mean later they didn't think they were entitled to more.

When you enter a business relationship as a musician 'for hire,' you can't walk in saying you understand the terms, then get all mad because later you think the terms should be different. I suspect that that belief, however passionate on their part, and their unhappiness that they remained session musicians were a factor, ya know? None of us "REALLY" know the circumstances surrounding what happened. But we sure do know it didn't leave them happy campers.

If they had a leg to stand on as far as what they claim still all these years later, they would have won in court, right? Rehashing this on Ozzy's fansite, what does that accomplish except throwing a smear?

To me, speculation is a better thing then venom aimed at Ozzy, as if any of us "knows." Seems more fitting, in my opinion.

Where is David?

What I like less is guitar in Black rain

Hey, I forgot but "Tribute" would be a good option to Blizzard and Diary. Nothing like live Randy.

Hey, David. Glad to hear that there are people that really do like "Black Rain." Some other forums that I'm in, it wasn't received so well. A lot of the credit for "Black Rain" has to go to Zakk Wylde. Unfortunately, Ozzy has done what Ozzy (Sharon) does well, and aced Zakk out of the new album. You should also try to get ahold of the Randy Rhoads era, "Blizzard of Oz" and "Diary of a Madman." The only problem I have with those 2 albums is that Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake were replaced on the most recent remasters, essentially cutting them out of any further residuals. BUT Rhoads' work is still there.

RIP Randy Rhoads

Welcome! I agree, I do love Black Rain, is my favourite! listen more, the rest are different but do it

What the frick is a middle 8 section?
