Or you can get the piggie virus, or pneumonia, or Graves Disease, or that nasty cancer. When your number comes up, death doesn't care how old you are, how much money you have, or what you've done with your life. I've been able to literally come back out of the grave twice in the last 2 years, giving me a unique opportunity. I've felt how quickly the hand of death can move, and yet I have been able to take the time to reflect on my past life, and while there have been disappointments and letdowns I have no regrets. I guess you could say that I'm "at peace." So let me add that in on top of gimp's advice - as you go along in life you should continuously look at your experiences and actions, and live your life in the best ways that you can.
Asylum, my bad, you didn't say a neighbor, you said it was close to your house.
a lady i knew well in town here Lily just died too, on January 2nd. she babysat my son about 8 years ago, and we always remained friends. she started working in town at the little mom & pop store we have here. she was an all right lady, very genuine, straight up, and good people. she knew the sh!t that can happen in life, and it didn't phase her, nor did she run and hide from it. she will be sorely missed. she died of cancer, she was in her late 70's.
92 is a ripe old age, i guess. that's a long life. i just want to see my kids off and happy with families of their own. one is, now i have my teen son, and my baby girl (who's 9 now, not so "baby" anymore LOL).

As strong as they were musically, the Ozzy Osbourne organization could not control everything, however. The stage centerpiece, a monolithic green Ozzy statue that descended to reveal the real, flesh-and-blood Ozzy to the awaiting masses would prove temperamental. "It got stuck in the air once," Soussan laughs. "When they finally got it going only two of the three motors started lowering it with the net result that the whole thing started to tip over! Ozzy was carrying a cordless microphone that was switched on and all you could hear over the music was Ozzy yelling across the arena, "Help! Help! Get me out of this f@ck!n' thing! Aaarrrggh!!!'

ah, yes, the usual twisting of a topic for agenda. not surprised. in fact, wouldn't be surprised if it were someone under cloak just to appear to be having conversation and being unkind in the process. maybe because they don't like something you've said in the past. but, will anyone ever know that. if i was webmaster that $hit would not be happening. but besides...in the end, who really cares. it's a nobody breaking wind. is there an ignore or ban button on this site?

reality is ever changing. human lives are but one part of it. is it a better death to lie in bed as your body decays from cancer? who is to say what real horror in death is. one second or six months.
we are all headed to the other side, one way or another.
a teen your age backed out of the long dirt driveway in this really remote town i live in. just in time to meet an 18 wheeler who killed him the same way your neighbor died. what are the odds. not very high. it is a terrible tragedy, particularly horrid for his family to have to live through. but he's ok, because he's in heaven all around us, huggin' his mom and dad and sister and brother, and rockin on as he did when he was alive. wasn't what he expected, but he's fine.
This guy like 15 yards from my house got hit by a recyclables truck and got his head taken right off! Anyone can get killed at any time. You could be in college and this lonely alienated dude could come in with a gun and start killing people! Some crazy guy could shoot you with a snyper rifle out of the back of his car on your way to work! You could go missing and your spouse could get into this whole lawsuit accused of killing you! Anything! And to think that if he had noticed there weren't any recyclables, this wouldn't've happened!
