Who aside of (THAT MEANS NOT INCLUDING!!!) Ozzy and Black Sabbath is your favorite contemporary band? They must be actively together and touring or recording albums!

For me it's Metallica, System of a Down, Godsmack, and now Slash. I'd lost touch with Slash for many, many, many long years. This tour with him was good. He's been reintroduced on the radar to so many of us rockers, it's awesome. His new stuff rocks.

The tops is Metallica. Can't explain it, but I end up loving every single note and word to all of their songs for some reason. It's like with Ozzy for me. This s*** sings to my soul. It's beautiful. Beyond understanding. Like each and every note is perfection, and it leaves me wondering exactly what is happening to hear it! James Hetfield and the boyz just rock. Even when James had become a total wasted idiot his music was still beyond belief. I felt sad for him just as I did for Ozzy... because the gift was still there but IMHO it was being dishonored and so were the fans. But...that's Hollywood -> sharks are always out there swimming around, trying to take down another rock God for the buck.

System of a Down is less than Metallica, but they really have something brilliant about them too. So does Sully Erna of the Smack. This 'Oracle' marm and his solo stuff (LMAO) WHAT IS THAT? LOL. So, he's on probation right now. LOL =o). And Slash? All I can say is WOW. He's just amazing! How did I lose sight of him. And THANK YOU OZZY for bringing him back into my heart again!

I would love to ACDC live! I know before the ozzy concert, waiting in the stadium for slash to appear with myles kennedy

They were playing songs from ACDC and we were all jamming to their songs :)
I can only imagine actually seeing them in concert, but I dont really care for the new singers voice, its okay.
But I like that guys voice whose in the video "let there be rock" voice better.
I dont remember his name though. =L

@Angel - Go see AC/DC live!!! I can't describe what it feels like to have Angus' guitar notes rip right thru you and make your hands and feet tingle...it gives you chicken skin all over when he plays the intro to Hells Bells. The bass and drum beats make your chest compress. It's really a visceral experience. They play way f***ing louder than any/everyone I've ever heard...Pantera/Metallica/Judas Priest/Megadeth you name it...AC/DC was louder by a LOT. I've seen almost every major hard rock / heavy metal band over the last 25 or so years and no one is even close to making you FEEL the power of their music as much as AC/DC does live. Please try and see them next tour - you'll be glad you did.

There just isn't a lot out there right now. I have everything Zakk has put out and love BLS raw power, loved Wolfmothers 1st album, Cosmic Egg not as much... Chris Duarte is amazing along the SRV Hendrix blues/rock lines. But there's not a lot out there. Metal just aint metal anymore. Any band that screams incoherently or uses pre-recorded industrial garbage makes me sick.

These days I'm still mostly listening to all the good hard rock from late 60's to the late 80's. I'm always looking for new live recordings of my favorite bands, so it never gets old.

Pantera, King Diamond, early VH, early Metallica, Maiden, early Dokken, Slayer, Pantera, Deep Purple, Cream, Hendrix, lots of Zeppelin, Skid Row (Slave to the Grid kicks ass) \m/

R.I.P. Randy, Dime, Jimi, Bonzo, SRV

i was angel. awww! how sweet! now that would make a band stand out, pretty special. i love those days you're living right now. cherish them! you know? it's been so long ago now, but from time to time I think of the things like that others did in my life too. of the coolness we had in those days. the fun without all the responsibility. we sometimes are in such a rush to grow up we miss the time of our lives happening all around us. not the least of which is music, and happening gatherings with friends. =o).

and to Tricia, how cool to come to Ozzy through your daughter =o). that's awesome!

THATS NOT A FAIR QUESTION..........EVERY BAND TODAY IS EITHER PLAYING ON PAST FAME OR BEING WANNABES.........JUST LIKE THERES NO ONE LIKE THE BEATLES, THERE IS NO ONE ELSE BUT OZZY!!!!!!!!!! NO ONE TODAY PERFORMS ON TALENT, LYRICS, MEANING, AND GUT WRENCHING GUITAR AND VOCALS......OMG THE DRUM SOLO ON THE SCREAM TOUR IS FRICKIN AMAZINGLY BRILLIANT. IM A NEW FAN AND ONLY FOUND MY WAY TO OZZY THROUGH MY 14 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER.........HOW COULD I HAVE MISSED SOMETHING SO AMAZING. LOVE FOREVER OZZY!!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE THE LAST REAL ROCK STAR!

If your talking to me,
I heard about Ac/Dc by one of my friends back in middle school, of course the only song i listened too
was "Back in Black" and thats all of what i knew of them.. sad right.

But then I made a guy friend in high school named Dylan who was obsessed with Ac/Dc and he would bring his guitar, and play
songs From ac/dc and black sabbath ( since he knew i liked them) and he would play songs for me.
He was a sweetheart and a pretty good guitar player,

But he was the one who really introduced me to Ac/Dc. & I have not seen them on tour, but i would love too.

lol. that's very cool. how did you hear about them? are you going to see them on their tour (or have you already)? just curious.

Aside from Ozzy/ Sabbath/ Dio.

My next love for a band would have to be Ac/Dc, i could never get tired of listening to their songs,
just like i could never get bored of listening to Sabbath & Ozzy (:

really! I loved David Bowie in the day. a very creative musician. but I'm not a Cooper fan. though i think he's interesting. and "all-right."

David Bowie, haven't seen him around for awhile so maybe Alice Cooper
