As you know I have a little green fingers.
The runner Beans are coming on, and the Sun Flowers at each end of the run are nice and sturdy now!
I got to dig up the onions and potatoes, then weed the plot
The gooseberries are coming to an end, so I feel a pie coming on! On home leave next week(?) so I might just bake a pie!
Marrows/cucumbers are slow to grow in the greenhouses, and the tomatoes are not much better
WE NEED SOME prolonged SUN
Ah the salad tray (gutering) has been a little dispointing! The herbs basically failed. Possible over watering with NO sun!. Anyway, the coriander is sprouting well, and the Little Gem Lettuce is coming along. The Spring (Salad) onions are really slow to show!
the trench, is slowly draining so I will have to dig the center out, and apply compost! Then, I can plant out the beetroot, Sprouts, and Leeks!

Had a great day out in Calais yesterday, and this morning I have found that the rain and wind has blown ovwer my runner beans, so I have to go out into the rain and either pull them up, OR stiffen the canes holding them up! Tough call or what!
Cucumbers appear to be still growing despite it getting cooler
And I think that the marrows will become more like Courgets! So I must make a move and have a better look.

Autumn must be coming!
The leave on the Horse Chestnut (Conker) Tree 2 doors down are starting to go a golden brown.
The cucumbers are still in thier element
Runner beans still have flowers, so lets hope for some sunny weather for another month without frost! There are still a few Sweet peas flowering on the canes. Anything to bring the BEE's in, as they are having a rough time of things

While recupperating yesterday, I went Foraging!
I came back with Rose hips, and Sloes. That has meant that I have had to process some 3 years old Sloe Gin into 9 bottles, and prep the next batch. It greieved me to compost 4 lbs of old friut, but I had reclaimed the previous lot! BUT, I have 26 days of antibiotics to go to get over my slight bout of pnemonia. Then I might just party! horay for that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
The I had to put the hips into a sauce pan cover with water and boiled away on a very low heat for many hours. Then I poured the c***ents into a fine meshed sive over a funnel (tun dish) so that the contents went into an old Jam Jar! How's that for recycling.
In Ireland the lady of the house has just learnt how to pickle, and started with red cabbage! She rough shred it, sprinkled with salt for 12 - 24 hours, wash it off, place in jar and top up with malt vinegar! Do not pickle smallonions, as Shallots are a lot sweeter.
I might just try and pickle some grlic, as THAT is extremely Moorish
