METALLICA JOINS OZZFEST FOR A ONE-DAY STADIUM SPECTACULAR
Cutting-Edge Acts and OZZFest Alumni to Ignite Three Stages at Pizza Hut Park
Dallas, TX (May 20, 2008) - Two of the most colossal names in rock n' roll—Metallica and Ozzy Osbourne--are joining forces Saturday, August 9th, 2008, for a one-day stadium spectacular, OZZFest at Pizza Hut Park in Dallas, TX. Worldwide superstars Metallica have chosen this next chapter in the evolution of OZZFest. Metallica's OZZFest debut represents one of the few shows the band will be playing in North America this year. “I am absolutely honored that Metallica is performing on OZZFest,” says Ozzy Osbourne.
Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich said of this year’s Ozzfest, “In 1986 Ozzy gave us our first break by taking us out on tour here in America, so whenever we get the call to play or hang together, of course our response is ‘f*ck yeah… just tell us when and where and we’ll be there.’ We’re psyched about our first Ozzfest experience and looking forward to hanging with all our metal buddies on what surely will be a great f*cking day in Dallas.”
Ozzy Osbourne himself will be making his only U.S. concert appearance through the end of 2008 at the wildly popular event which bears his name, marking the transformation of the pioneering festival he founded into a one-day extravaganza spanning three stages of top metal and hard rock acts. This year's OZZFest in Pizza Hut Park in the hard music-loving state of Texas will feature three stages of non-stop talent and reliably twisted OZZFest side attractions.
The OZZFest 2008 bill will also feature some of the hardest rocking bands--many of whom have been a part of the OZZFest family and who will return to the OZZFest stage in support of a festival which has opened the door for so many of today's hard rock and metal bands. The full main stage lineup will spotlight performances by Serj Tankian (System of a Down), Hellyeah, Jonathan Davis (Korn), Cavalera Conspiracy, Shadows Fall, Apocalyptica and In This Moment. Also scheduled on the main stage is a special all-star tribute to fallen Pantera guitarist and Texas native "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott. Second stage acts include Sevendust, Devildriver, Kingdom of Sorrow, Soilent Green, Witchcraft and Goatwhore. The third Texas stage--"an homage to the many great metal bands that come from Texas," says Sharon Osbourne--will feature The Sword, Drowning Pool and Rigor Mortis.
This year's dynamic line-up encompasses artists who've played OZZFest before in different incarnations such as Serj Tankian (System of a Down); Robert Trujillo (Ozzy and now with Metallica), Jonathan Davis (Korn); Hellyeah's Vinnie Paul (Pantera) and Chad Gray (Mudvayne); Kingdom of Sorrow's Jamie Jasta (Hatebreed) and Kirk Windstein (Down); and Max Cavalera (Soulfly, Sepultura) of Cavalara Conspiracy. Other OZZFest graduates include Shadows Fall, Sevendust, Devildriver, Drowning Pool and In This Moment.

More than 13 years after Ozzy Osbourne started OZZFest, it remains the defining blueprint for hard rock tours and festivals that have come along since. OZZFest is now evolving into a bigger and better stadium destination festival with headliners Metallica and Ozzy Osbourne leading the way.

I went to see Ozzy Osbourne with 'Black Sabbath' and Ozzy Osbourne at a festival in the United Kingdom called the 'Ozzfest' and I got to the front of the stage with my standing ticket and it was brilliant! I went to see 'Metallica' at a festival in the United Kingdom when Jason Newsted was the bass guitar player and 'Metallica' played songs from their 'Metallica' album, like 'Enter Sandman' and it was also brilliant. I went to see 'Metallica' at 'Trent FM Arena Nottingham' this year (2009) and it was amazing! At the 'Metallica' show there were laser lights as well as other lighting and pyrotechnics, including flames coming out of the stage. 'Metallica' also played songs from their new 'Death Magnetic' album and the better old songs, including 'Enter Sandman', 'One' and 'Seek and Destroy'. I got a 'Metallica' programme after the show. I have already joined 'The Metallica Club', 'International Premier Membership' and I am getting the membership package, 'Metallica' merchandise and tickets to see 'Metallica' in America and the United Kingdom. I am also a big fan of Ozzy Osbourne because Ozzy Osbourne is the right type of person in a nice way to be the lead singer of a rock band. Ozzy Osbourne has also worked with great musicians, including guitarists, to produce fantastic rock albums. My favourite Ozzy Osbourne album is called 'Blizzard of Oz' and my favourite song from that album is called 'Crazy Train'. I buy all of the Ozzy Osbourne and 'Black Sabbath' CD albums from 'HMV', 'Victoria Centre Shopping Centre' in Nottingham city centre. I am buying all of the Ozzy Osbourne and 'Black Sabbath' merchandise from market stalls and shops in Nottingham city centre. I have a small Chinese tattoo on the top of my left arm which means 'different' and I have a tattoo of a Chinese dragon on my lower left arm which I am getting coloured in mainly purple and a bit of green. I am having a Celtic symbol tattoo done on the back of my neck and I am also having a rock music style tattoo including skulls on the top of my right arm. I would buy a standing ticket to get to the front of the stage when Ozzy Osbourne does a show in the United Kingdom, including at 'Trent FM Arena Nottingham'.

i am ozzys biggest fan!!! i have been rocking out to ozzy for years!!!from black sabbath to now ozzy is the man!!!!!! there is no better heavy metal singer in the world . hes been rocking since 1968!!!!! i cant beleve how much of an ozzy fan i am. if ozzy acualy reads this, black rain is the best album in the world!!!!! not going away is pure genius. also i dont wanna stop is the best song ever!!!!!!

ozfest hasent been the same since any one who can pay the entrence fee can get into play. now when the only way to get in was to have to kick ass (music wise), those were the days nothing but bone shaking talent, yeah some of the bands have been good , but the new matalica... BHA! they were better in the 80'S.
eh but ozzy is still kicking ass as im sure he will for many years.
so how did it go? did James show everyone how to play rock once again?

The one thing I have always wanted to see, Ozzy and Metallica together, and I couldn't make it, I had the tickets and everything, but my supervisors were being asses and wouldn't let me off.......I bet the show was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope Ozzy brings another great band to share the stage with him next year...
