The world’s favourite rock ‘n’ roll royal couple, Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, will take to the stage at Earls Court on 20 February, to host The BRIT Awards 2008, Live on ITV1, the UK recorded music industry association, The BPI, revealed today.
Known for its history of unpredictable rock n roll antics, The BRIT Awards 2008 is the perfect forum for television’s infamous couple. With Ozzy Osbourne’s metal mayhem and Sharon’s outspoken honesty the duo will guide millions of TV viewers and 11 thousand music fans partying in Earls Court through one of the most exhilarating nights in the UK Music calendar.
The BRIT Awards goes absolutely LIVE on ITV1 for a second consecutive year. Expect the unexpected as this controversial pair lead the entertainment for the evening as the Osbourne’s come head to head with the biggest personalities in the UK music industry and all The BRIT Award 2008 winners.
Commenting on getting to the most exciting job in music television Ozzy & Sharon said, “Ozzy and I have been asked to host many awards shows in the past but this is by far the most prestigious and meaningful, especially for Ozzy as it’s about the music. Ozzy and I are proud to be Brits and are both incredibly honoured to have been asked to help celebrate the best in music.’’
Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon have become British television’s best-loved couple, after arriving onto our TV screens in 2002 with their hugely successful reality TV show ‘The Osbournes’. Sharon has gone on to become a huge TV personality and true advocate of young British talent as a judge on ITV’s record breaking ‘X Factor’. Metal legend Ozzy’s passion for music is well documented and his legendary status as an influential part of UK rock heritage spans four decades. Ozzy is a Grammy Award winner and has been inducted into both the UK and US Rock N Roll Hall of Fame.

The nominations for The BRIT Awards 2008 with MasterCard will be unveiled at London’s Roundhouse on Monday, 14th January 2008. The launch will be televised on ITV2 that same night at 9pm.

It's about time the British music industry did something to honour a musician of Ozzy's stature and length of service to music fans. Pity it's not a long overdue awars or even an apology for trying to ignore his music since 1969. Still, I bet the double O is chuckling inside at the irony, just like many of us
