Here's a pic of me and Bill Ward backstage at Birmingham NEC on 22nd December 1999.
I'd been trying for a while to get backstage but just kept getting moved on by security so after a while I gave up and headed to the car for the long journey home, on my way to the car park I passed the rear of the NEC and saw loads of roadies moving equipment up and down a large ramp, it was at this point I thought f*** it, I'm going in, and I just walked up this ramp trying to look confident and pretending to know where I was going, and to my suprise no-one challenged me, next thing I know I'm in this holding area with loads of othere people, I recognised a few, Ozzy's kids, Sharons brother, members of System of a Down, DJ Tommy Vance, and a few others, then suddenly I spotted Bill Ward, f*** me its Bill Ward, alL I can say is what a true gentleman, great bloke, happily chatted away and had his photo taken with me. If he looks a bit miserable in the pic its 'cos my camera kept f***ing up and he had to stand next to me for a photo about 5 times before it finally worked, sorry about that Bill.
Not long after that Ozzy apeared from nowhere, managed to get a quick photo with him, but it was mad, so many people around him. Still got hime to sign a few things also. He also signed loads of stuff for the many fans outside while he was waiting in his car.
Never saw Geezer or Tony but meeting Bill and Ozzy made my day big style.
