I know many of you were extremely dissappointed about the new variety show. I watched it on You Tube and personally I enjoyed it. It was good not great. It's very sad that many people bash this show while hailing awful Late night with Conan as brilliant and mesmerizing. I however respect your opinion very much. I want you all to understand that this was not Ozzy's idea. You know TV show comedian Ozzy and musician Ozzy are completely different entities and should not be mixed together. If you liked Black rain you have no point of losing hope about his musical future. I give you an example. Let's imagine that Stephen King was also a terrible but famous abstract painter. I wouldn't lose my hope about his writing abilities if he did terrible paintings that every three year old kid could have done. I would simply ignore his paintings and eagerly wait for his next book. Ozzy's crappy TV comedian side doesn't affect his ability to write songs. It mainly affects his image.
But images come and go, but music has more longetivity. If his next album is excellent, people will remember it many years later when Ozzy's ruined image and both a reality and variety show will be long forgotten. Mozart was a very crude and nasty person but he accomplished so much in his short live that everyone today focuses much more on how brilliant composer he was than what kind of image he had. If you disliked Black rain like Hand of doom you probably have a reason to fear for. Because a comedy side doesn't affect on his musical abilities and his musical side doesn't affect his comedian skills. Simply don't watch the show and wait for the new album and write your review about it when it is released.

it's all about The Almighty Dollar, at least according to Sharon when asked. makes you think - when is enough enough? i guess it makes me wonder if what goes out the door is astronomically stupendously ridiculously extravagant - or whether there's just this relentless drive like an addiction for more and more and more. but it does seem like someone said earlier that she is driving the car, even when the ride hurts Ozzy in the process. Maybe she's relentless and it's hard to say no. or ...maybe Ozzy loves her (or what if it's her & the kids) so much he wants her/them to be happy, so he goes along with her/them trying to flex wings in the public eye. not my place to speculate on their private business tho, you know?

Haha Late Night with Conan O'Brien is now off the air. He's replacing Jay Leno soon. I shall miss those shows.
Dark Stripes...no need to take cheap shots. In fact, other than liking the show I agree completely with you.
Yes there are two different sides of Ozzy...TV Ozzy and Radio Ozzy. Let me tell you why I don't like TV Ozzy.
The simple reason that it makes him look like a fool and that's the image that everyone gets from him. Take for example The Osbournes Reloaded...watch it again and you'll see that it was acting on his part. That's not who he really is. And who knows if that's what he did during the original Osbourne show. But if it gets high ratings and a laugh from the audience, that's all that matters right?
And yea when it comes to Ozzy, he does take music seriously and that's why I love him. Hell even when he started his solo career, he took a gamble on Randy Rhoads just after hearing him tune his guitar, then paid for the recording sessions out of his own pocket. He's a musical genius. He knows what he wants and he goes for it.
I didn't watch The Osbournes past season 1, and I don't plan to see The Osbournes Reloaded ever again. But I will continue to listen to his music, buy his new albums and spend hundreds of dollars to see him play live. Why? Because he is still my God.
When I start thinking about people's comments I notice that they are probably more worried about how other people see Ozzy than is Ozzy able to compose another good album. It isn't nice when other people say your hero is a sell out clown. I understand it. Thank you for correcting me lennonsdaughter! But the important thing is to support your hero and ignore other people's views. For most of us it is music that matters the most. Sharon may make all the financial decisions of the family and keep Ozzy in the leash but thank God she doesn't compose Ozzy's music. I personally thought Black rain was the best Ozzy album since eighties. He looks lively in the interviews and because the show will probably be banned after a couple of episodes, it doesn't take time away from recording a next album. He has even cancelled Ozzfest so he can concentrate in his next album. I believe Ozzy still has the musical hunger and ambition left.
I don't think anyone here doubt Ozzys musical ability because of the show. As you commented. It has nothing to do with each other.
