Scorps To Call It Quits
Say it isn’t so! After a 40 year career, the Scorpions have announced they’re calling it quits. But you’ll still have plenty of time to see them one last time…they’ve got a new album called Sting in the Tail out on March 23rd followed by a three-year world tour.
“While we were working on our album these past few months, we could literally feel how powerful and creative our work was – and how much fun we were still having in the process,” said frontman Klaus Meine on the band’s website. “We want to end the Scorpions’ extraordinary career on a high note. We are extremely gracious for the fact that we still have the same passion for music we’ve always had since the beginning.” “So at some point,” added guitarist Matthias Jabs, “it came to us to end our career with this exceptional album.”
Said Rudolf Schenker, “The three-year tour through five continents is meant to be a huge blowout, where we can party with our fans and say good-bye. When I started out, I had a lot of wishes. It’s crazy, I achieved more than I ever even dreamed of.”
The final tour starts this May in the Scorps’ home country of Germany. They’ll then tour across North America and head out across five more continents until 2012. We’ll have all the dates up at HouseOfHairOnline.com as soon as they’re released. Even though the Scorpions have been around for now over four decades, we’re not ready to say goodbye.

Well, by the time the tour is done Klaus Meine and Rudy Schenker will both be 64. The reunion tour was actually in 2007 and 2008 after they released "Humanity: Hour 1" which I think may be their heaviest album ever. Michael Schenker and Uli Roth both participated in that tour.
And now, how cool that they're talking about sending the band out with a 3-year long party. No, I don't think that these guys will totally quit working, but I think they honestly will put Scorpions to rest with no infighting, and everybody healthy. No Bret Favre routines here. You know, "No More Tours" and things like that.
Of course, the other guys are younger and have other stuff going on. So I don't think that we'll actually be hearing the last of any of them. Just not as Scorpions.
I have Blackout and I love that album, I haven't heard the rest, but I'll go if they come to Mexico
It's been a long, long time since I have been impressed with the music industry. They've made it so easy for a band to be signed, in fact they fabricate them by putting pretty boy 1 with pretty boy 2. The truth is that there are few that are incredibly talented, very few...and those are the only ones who should make it through. Too many people today have NO CLUE what constitutes talent at all, because SH!T gets passed off all the time as talent. It's awful. Obviously someone is paying attention because they get your Smacks through and Tallica's, but...what of all the rest?
So the wind of change has caught up with them!
I got to admit, that I am not htier greatest fan, but what I have heard I have liked.
Give them a few years and they will probably reform, and in doing so test the water about a proper comeback.
All the best

I am with you darkblade I thought they threw in the towel a long time ago, good for them with continuing on. Scorps were one of the better bands back in that time frame, I listened to a lot of the scorps, a lot! lol
And record labels anymore don't know s*** about s***, they have lost their minds. They need to hire my ass, I can tell them what bands will be what, my track record is almost untouchable, and I am usually right no matter the genre.
But they instead listen to suit n ties instead, like any of them know whats what, take a look at Washington, that's what you get when you leave s*** to suit n ties...

I had no idea they were even still out there playing. I loved the Scorpians in the day. I will definitely have to check their album out.
What is with the record industry today? All these artists that we love never getting any promotions. Yet these idiots they sign for a one single deal (the 5.5 billion of them) - they promote to no end.
Somethings very wrong with this picture.
very sad to see the scorpians go,,well a world tour would be great so they can rock us like a hurricane ha ha ha ha ,anyway if there coming to sydney im gonna go
