Once when i was contracting, I went fishing on the Saturday, and went to work on the Sunday. As I was working with germans, and Austrians, they had a BBQ after work. So I supplied Dog Fish, and Skate wings, and they actually tasted quite nice, for bland fish. I presume that thetaste was improved with the charcoal! The German boss liked it, but when I failed to show the following Saturday, as I went fishing again, I was not invited back, hahahahahahahahahahahaha

I a previous life, I made a BBQ out of an old Oil Drum, made a frame out of angle/box section, and made some money for charity! I hinged the lid sothat it had a meshh grill plate to keep the cooked food warm! So it is amasing what you can do with a 56 gallon oil drum! got to burn it out before you cook on it mind, bt hey!

Yep, I have seen Ray mears use one on one of his shows!
I made a tripod and welded the chin so that the ring on the tripod, and the hook on the end have free movement! Years ago, I made a folding Fire. Like a dork I welded it all togetoth, and it will not fold flat, so at some stage, a grinding/cutting I will go, and reposition and then reweld so that it does fold flat! like a suitcase.
Another project money, time permiting is to get some steel strip 3" deep by how everlong I work it out to, Have a griddle one side, and solid plate the other, with 4 folding legs, so that will be a rectangle
Another project will be a triangular version with 3 folding legs. Ray Mears calls it a Short Tri Pod and can be bought off his site! Naaaaah I am going to make one! Work out the size of the largest pot that you will use as your outside, then make a triangle to fit on the inside so that its points touch the straights on the outside, then do the same again until you reach the size that your smallest pot will not fall through.

Years ago on a program "Heart of the Country" there was an olde boy and he used what he called a dutch oven. It was basically a piece of clay down pipe! So I obtaned a pice of steel pipe, and have had some ends made of Aluminium. I have yet to try it, but it should work a treat!

You had better do it in a sandy soil/sand as sand keepin the heat. I learned that as an Apprentice, but saddly I have only seen it on the Ray mears Survival Shows. Bear Gryles like to spend his nights in hotels, where as Ray GETS HIS WHOLE CREW to sleep under canvas, or other shelter, and makes them eat the food He is doing for the camera!

Cut the c*** into 11 sections: the head and neck, the boobs, the stomach, the upper arms, the elbows, the lower arms, the hands, the upper legs, the knees, the lower legs, and the feet. Chop it all up into chili and serve it to its parents. Bury the bones in a ditch.
I can see where the brains are in the family NOW! hahahahahahaha
If we are outdoors using an open fire, then wrap in a bundle of leaves instead of foil.
Also Cecilky, you are now my most evil woman that I know! Talking the way that you do about FOOD! Keep it up!

As You know I go Deep Sea Fishing, anything from 100 yards to over 30 miles into the English Channel, Not so far in the Bristol Channel, or out of the mouth of the River Shannon in the Republic of Ireland!
The Cod family goes from Cod, Ling (long thin cod), Pollack, Coal Fish( Coley), Whiting, Haddock, etc.
So do we:
Poach in Milk,
Pan Fry,
Steam
Spit Roast
Grill
Stew/Curry
So who can help from my favorite Oznoids, ok just one exception as It has been suggested that one person, it, or thing has nothing usefull to say. I hope the subtle hint has been dropped!
Then once we have some Cod family Recipies, we will move on to other fish!
