Heaven & Hell Considering Playing Material From The Ozzy Osbourne Era Of Black Sabbath
In a recent interview with the Boston Herald, Heaven & Hell/Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi spoke on a number of subjects from riffs and volumes, to the success of Heaven & Hell. He revealed in the interview that the band may well change the set list up a little next year by adding some material from the Ozzy Osbourne era of Black Sabbath.
“We love ‘War Pigs’ and ‘Iron Man’ and ‘Paranoid’ but we’ve played those for 40 years so it’s been a nice change," he stated, "Maybe next year we’ll do some of the old stuff."

Frankly i'm pissed about the situation.
They wanted there own band they GOT IT and they get the idea in there head HEY let's play our old songs I mean Heaven and Hell has been around so long that we can start doing this. NO they can't!

saw this same line-up back in '81-'82... they did Ozzy era songs in addition to their own stuff... bad idea then, bad idea now...
just give a listen to 'Live Evil'...
I'm a big fan of Dio era Sabbath... and I'm a big fan of Ozzy era Sabbath...
but they shouldn't mix their music...
ever again...

and other than to stir up issues why would they play Sabbath songs - there is no question that who they are is not Sabbath historically and as they all agree.
With Dio, they're H&H.
But it just tells you that they are getting desperate to please fans who go to see them and say "hey, this isn't Sabbath." Guess they're scramblin.
you said it eloquently gimp. couldn't have said it better. there is only one man who has ever given me the chills with his voice, why he fair gives this woman the goosebumps ... Ozzy is and always has been the only one who's struck that particular chord in me. why, he even had panties thrown onstage at Blizzcom for Gods sake. kinda gross in my humble opinion, specially those that have hershey stains or other disgusting stuff NOBODY wants to think about (specially if it requires a prescription to heal), but I guess that's the sense a woman can make of a man-trophy. it was hilarious that someone asked whether they brought them there or took them off spontaneously - what a question! (heheheheheh)
Ozzy rocks the world ...and women, even those WOW women who enjoy dressing up like Poison Ivy in Batman! yep...he is one SEXY man.
yeah great get heaven n hell to do dio songs,,im sure iommi can handle that,,and even if they play the ozzy era,,it will sound half baked,,there ya go i said it,,only OZZY'S voice has the quality for that,,or the balls

Sure, along with Stargazer, Holy Diver, Keep It Warm, No Stranger To Love, and The Eternal Idol.
I'm sure it won't happen. The main reason why they have a "new band" called Heaven and Hell is to sing only Dio's era songs, Dio didn't want crowd to ask for Paranoid, War Pigs or Iron Maiden.
Dio's voice is not for Ozzy's songs.
If Iommi want to play War Pigs he shoud beg Ozzy to invite him to perform with him
When I saw the reunion Tours one and two, then moment the intro started, and then hearing ozzy's Voice, the hairs on the back of my neck stood up! TWO cracking good nights!
I have to concure, NO BODY SINGS OZZY LIKE OZZY! If they want to play some old material, then so be it, but you only have to hear RJD sing old Sabbath material to know, IT IS NOT HIS FORTEE, he can not hit the notes like the original sing OZZY DID! RJD has a good voice ........... but for his own material! If you have not see RJD sing classic Sabbath meterial, then listern to "LIVE EVIL", you can tell from that 1980's release!
Good luck to them, as at least Ozzy will get some royalties for a change, instead of paying out to TONY!
Perhaps, and I say perhaps, this might be a start for a 40th reunion tour? Fingers and everything else crossed

I think it's comical. Nobody sings Ozzy's songs as good as Ozzy did in the day. Singing them will be like listening to a tight cover band. I'm sorry, but no matter what Iommi does, without Ozzy, Butler, Ward, and himself together - the magic isn't there when it comes to Sabbath.
