So share your observations of Ozzy's new book "I am Ozzy."
Rock on Ozzy Osbourne...we love you!
i had the same reaction, a very funny book and a very funny man. i love when he talks about the sofa fire with his dad, and his moms teeth. OMG! that's hilarious.
Hello! Mr. Ozzy my name is Niko Beridze I am from Batumi in Georgia ,The Black Sea coast. I am a musician and iI' v been singing since I was 5 years old. I' am 21 years old and have a 17 year old brother who is a musician like me,he is a singer. He is your fan and is crazy about you and your songs. He has recorded your hit "She's gone"we have a great desire to send the recording to you,and we'd like you to listen to it and express your idea about it (it's very important for us). In case you like it, we'll be happy to have your permission for my brother to sing this song.I'd like to say that our country belongs to the countries of the 3rd world; show business does not exist, that's why musicians are trying to release their talant abroad.Could you give us your e-mail please to send you the recording of "She's gone".
Thank you in advance for your attantion
We are looking forward to receiving your response.
My e-mail is: email@example.com
With best wishes
Niko and George.
the very first page of that book literally made me laugh out loud and wake up the entire house.....i love that s***!
Two other points of interest, and regretably they revolve around she who will remain nameless!
1) Her friend was a nanny and the woman took her kids to a birthday party at Geezers! Not that far you see. It was reported that Ozzy was there and Spaced out. I just said that was Ozzy being Ozzy
2) a while ago, a friend of one her relatives (just so happens mine and her father worked togethor) claimed that she was frinds with Gloria.
Small world, and you just do not know who is friends with who, and let us face it a good friend is for life and not for the here and now!
:o) I'm sure he's got to have someone read some of this stuff back to him. If he says his fans don't like the title, how can he NOT be having some finger on the pulse where his fans blab their inanities to each other hoping he'll come along and know they love him.
:o). I agree totally, the book is a nice read. very likeable man Ozzy is, always has been. ~*
I just finished ready Ozzy's book and WOW it was fantastic. I sure hope he reads these or at least gets told how much it is enjoyerd. My daughter is know reading it.
Well, I'm glad I got a copy from the UK anyways. C/o Mr. Andrew. It would have been nice to have had the opportunity to stand in line for 10 hours and freeze my butt off so I could have 3 seconds of proximity and his sig too though, you know? Bah, humbug.
Yea, what's up with no signings for his Western US fans. CA doesn't cut west of Chicago all the way to the ocean. Damn. Like a big slap in the face to all his other fans.
Just remember that AC DC sang about money talking!
I doubt it. He announced what he's doing, and to my knowledge once that is done it's done!
Will ozzy be doing anymore book signings in the new england area,
Good short related article.
I would love Ozzy to wake me up with a kiss. Ain't gonna happen, but it would be wonderful, and we can always dream.
Sleepy Hollow must still be asleep waiting for prince charming to kiss and wake him up!?
It's now officially available in the US as of today...I'm yappin' with a few people who've either seen him today (NYC) or will be seeing him in 2 days in NJ. They aren't coming on this site, but the one in NYC was thrilled to meet Ozz, said it was raining but he stood in the rain for quite a few hours, but he was thrilled that he'd gone to meet THE OZZMAN! :o)
hey andy did you say loving and eating them ,,you better talk to 82 he's got a mob of em,,and here we call it cracklin,,pork crackling ,,and yes agreed pork is a bloody nice meat
here is another Ozzy word that may need a little translation to our country/continental cousins:
Scratchings - no not sleepy hollow scratching his head to get splinters, but good old Cooked skin of with spices of the the goode olde pig! Hence the correct term is - Pork Scratchings. I am sorry if you do not like pork for what ever reason, that is your perasonal choice. However, it does not stop me from loving eating them!
Can not one oznoid call for another oznoid?
It is more of a Shakespearean poem thingymebob!
So where is the Sleepy Hollow Oznoid? Have I shook off the poor little fellow and made him cry, and run off with his tail between his legs?
yeah andy is price less isnt he ,,and would you like a poem for you LD ,,i'd happily write one
here is my poem i call it
ODE TO ANDY
here it is written
andy lives in great britian
Hey Andy, sounds like some sort of poem
hey andy talking in riddles again ,,is this a private convo your having with someone else ,,i dont understand
Just a quickie, it is Thursday after all and I feel a night out coming on!
Where has sleepy hollow gone?
Has he gone to actually research his points?
Has he given up as he is wrong?
Would the GIMPS gift of soap actually fit sleepy hollow?
What will sleepy's next response consist of?
Stan mentioned also that Ozzy came by in a Range Rover!
oh ok cool andy ,,yes i would have loved to grow up near there ,,you lucky so and so ha ha ha ha
Little olde me is not upset with anyone, I was just trying to let everyone understand where Ozzy has come from, and possibly where he is going
I will be restarting the I Am Ozzy book sometime soon. I've been purposely staying away from it since the first time through because I want my second time to be just as refreshingly interesting as the first. I enjoyed it the first time through very much for the voice that came out of the pages.
I have been discussing the book with other Ozz fans elsewhere, and forget that it's not been released here yet. They are excited though, big time, to go to the meet and greet and to read his book. very cool :o)
Ah yes, the book, the book! I have many. The best after 'I Am Ozzy' is the one written by Rudy Sarzo. He gives such a great picture around the band and Ozzy in the days of Randy Rhoads up until he left Ozzy. A very nice man, gives a boat load of rich details on everything and is entertaining when doing it. You can tell he loves what he did as part of the Blizzard, and considers himself a friend for Ozzy. that he respects and loves the man is obvious.
I can't seem to see you baby ... although I did hear this one time on an answering machine and something clicked in my mind. Something screamed you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DI5RvmNvXak
are you angry with me andy ,,i have read the book,,and yes im in australia and not in pulse land ,but im a fan none the less,,sorry you think like that about me,,,im not here to compare notes you know im here because i love ozzy osbourne,,well all have oppinions and asumptions,,and some of us ozznoids were not in way to have merchandise or stuff,,living where i have lived you couldnt keep that kind of stuff unfortuneatly
Read the BOOK, simple.
Then again, as I have a repository of Most things OZZY, I think that I am in the right place to make comments, and even the odd suggestion.
So over the years I have met all sorts of people with a connection to Ozzy/Sabbath.
A chap called Frankie C I worked with said that when he lived in Aston, he/a friend saw Tony pull up to a house in what was then a flash car and some kids were larking around, so he had what could be construed as a chat with them, and they never came back. I think that the term used was Tony was a tasty geezer (hard man), .... Also He told me that Tony's parents owned a green grocers (vegetable shop), hence he had the use of a van!
Another chap called Stan, claime dto have gone out with one of Ozzy's sisters
Another chap that I have worked with drinks with one of Ozzy's relatives and I have heard of the usual family tales, which are quite normal. I can go into a deeper depth BUT I have to respect the nature of the contacts concerned, as you would not like me mentioning things about your own families on the site would you!
well if there blaming him for those things i must thank him ,because i enjoy a good sunrise a nice rain storm and i definatly enjoy a full moon
Ozzy did Live Aid and things may well have gone further but Sabbaths management (Don Arden) was a little miffed and served Ozzy with a writ before they went on stage prohibiting any future colaboration.
interesting that you say that. everyone blames Ozzy for no further collaboration. in fact, they blame him for the sun rising, the rain falling, the moon being full...
hey andy 8-4 miles mate not that far ,,geez if we can only turn back time, then you as a 5 year old could of gone and found sabbath and been there roadie, well apprentice roadie,,well maybe a young afiliate who when got a tad older been a apprentice roadie
and angel sorry you cannot find the book,,try andy's suggestions
Just come off a route planning site, and It would take me 8.4 miles from my home to 14 Lodge Road, Aston! Mind you, I would not have followed that route!
A slight adendum. I think that Bill was invited to ALL of the gigs, BUT the others realised that due to Bills Health problems they had Vinnie in tow. Just imaging how much they had to pay Vinnie for stitting down back stage. BUT worth it JUST in case. Let us face facts, you can not have the Original line up with one or two of them missing, can you?
I realy look forward to the others writing their memoirs so that we can compare them, as they will differ, as they have a different point of view, and then again some may just suggest that Ozzy got it wrong. So let us have a read.
Angel82, my heart blleds for you, and every other fan whop can not get hold of the book. If you have a credit card, or I dare say a Debit Card, try Amazon.co.uk, or any other Amazon outlet. You could try and search for Waterstones, the Works (the cheaper of the two, usually), WH Smiths to name but three book shops. Some shops sell it for £15 now, others at £18, and some at top price of £20, so you will have to add post and packing on. The choice is your, and now you have a rough idea what sort of money that you are looking at, In England anyway.
http://watchdexter.biz IT STARTED WITH MY SISTER THEN TO HIS HUSBAND..WE ARE ALL OZZY'S BEST FAN...BUT WE WERE NOT ABLE TO FIND THAT BOOK i GUESS IT IS NOT PUBLISHED IT OUR COUNTRY..
well andy we all read what we want from that ,,i can speak first hand about addictions,,and mate they may say it was ozzy using to much ,,but c,mon four guys cruising the world doing there thing with music,,they all would of been full of drugs,,and IMO ozzy was railroaded out of sabbath because tony couldnt control him,, ozzy is a free spririt and tony IMO is a control freak,,have a lttile faith that the drugs n alcohol issue was only a easy way of gettin ozzy out,,,,this is how i have read it from when i was young to now,,this is ME from a addicts point of view,,and really ozzy is a addict yes because he has said that ,,and im just waiting for the time when the rest of them confess their faults,,from where im sitting there all addicts,,and really every human on the planet has a addiction,,some addictions are just less noticeably,,its the nature of the beast ,
I often find that things get lost in translation, and perhaps it is only the older Germans that do not have a sense of humour, as my experience most Germans DO like a laugh. Names, accents, etc, do not translate though. When I try and speak in German just simple stuff, they look at me with disbilef as to wtf is he saying, as i do not quite have the pronounciation correct. Such is life, as I do try to speak the language of the country that I am in! It is called respect.
I found it a very prophetic tome, full of leasons for life for each and everyone of us! I learnt a little, confirmed a fair bit that I have heard over the years, and admire Ozzy's honesty! A jolly good read to say the least, and I have to agree with the Gimp (shock horror) it is a very easy read, and I could have read it in a day, instead of a day and a half due to other commitments!
Anyway to goode olde sleepy hollow.
You mention FACTS but they just appear to be urban legends! Well my son, and yes you are young enough to be my son, if I had one. Pass the grits, what ever they may be, listen in and READ THE BOOK!
Tony left for 4 days, so yep less than two weeks.
the four men from aston started to get on each others nerves, as they had basically recorded and toured from their inception, not to mention being ripped off by management. I learnt the meaning to the LP's Sabotage, and Never say Die.
Bill not invited! You may be right up to a point! And that point is if you know what you are writing about, you will see that Bill has suffered serious health problems that it appear to be hereditary. WHEN BILL did play with Sabbath, he had Vinnie behind the scenes just incase! I have Vinnie on DVD saying that it was NOT until the Four men from Aston started, that he realised the POWER that the Original line up has!
they were all doing alsorts of ileagal substances,BUT as Ozzy is an Addict, he took more than most, and then couple that to the death of your father, would you not be miffed?
As with RJD the others including Ozzy have mellowed with age.
RJD has seaid on Heavy Metal Heaven and probably other TV shows, that a band needs democracy BUT with a dictator in charge!
but its still cool even though the translation maybe a tad lame,,still cool that they have a german version
Instead of commenting to your posts I tell you that I started to read the German translation of ozzys book on Crissy. the first things I mentioned were a few mistakes including that they wrote kevin churk istead churko. shouldnt happen in a translation of an autobiography as names are quite important there.
Anyway, first it was very strange to read it in my own language cause when I've read it in english I could hear Ozzy talking through the book. That gets lost in the translation. With it a part of Ozzy's character gets lost. A friend of mine who is a huge Ozzy fan but doesnt speak english doesnt like the book. She says, Ozzy came across a lot more likeable to her in the Osbournes and I think thats the way cause the translation doesnt work that well.
Oh, another huge mistake is that they left out the empty page at the beginning. They screwed the joke. Thats not proper work when you are doing translations, or is it?
But its not all bad although I would always want to read the original.
A good point that Ozzy comes up with, is that Do not hate some one, or wish them harm as it gets you nowhere, and it is not very productive!
It takes more energy to hate someone than it does to like or to be unaffected by them. however, one can get to know others and once they do, dislike their qualities and characteristics, ending the association. choosing (because life is about free choice) not to interact with that person can occur without it being a manifestation of hate.
Ozzy is funny. and a very likable man. agreed =)
yes im in agreeance with you and ozzy ,,hatred gets a person no-where,,hatred is a wasted energy,,and all the people that i have ever hated in the past ,well it just saddens me these days to think i wasted that time when i could of been getting on with things,,i gave up hating in our YEAR OF THE GIMP 2000,,so im now ten years strong,,and my resolve will never be altered for what ever reason and may friendly fred walk the path with me
gimpnoid ,,the ledgend grows LOL
What with life and work balance being mainly work such is life!
HOWEVER, it took me two days of enjoyable, informative reading, and yes I do have a few comments. I believe that we could use the book as a lesson in life and how to over come various problems. At school we had Mr Basset who used a steel wire brush as you leaned over a drafting board in one of the wood work rooms! How time they have changed.
Ozzy talk to Johney Foriegner (non English [from the West Midlands]) lol no offience intended but, as I grew up and still live about 8 miles from 14 Lodge Road, some say I sound like the main man! Yeah right!
Caff - Cafe
Offy - Off Licence, Bottle Shop, Beer off
Getting the Willies - Getting Frightened/scared
Best Chat up line that I have heard in ages: Can I come back and watch your telly?
Please read it ALL, especially the last Paragraph of Part One
A good point that Ozzy comes up with, is that Do not hate some one, or wish them harm as it gets you nowhere, and it is not very productive!
Yes I have a copy of "The Osbournes Uncut" now on DVD. Jack is aged 11 I remember that bit.
Having read the book it makes a lot of sense, and brightened my holiday, and the man needs a KNIGHTHOOD, for his contibution to music and as a co founder of the genre HEAVY METAL, and services to charity.
The only thing that I realy have in common with Ozzy is straight tralk, as my levels of deplomacy are limited!
Long live rock and roll
Long Live OZZY Osbourne
Well Andy now that you've begun reading THE BOOK of 2009/2010, I am very interested to see what things connect with you. Of all fans, the ultimate one...with so much memorabilia and assorted things Ozzy. He's funny huh?
hey andy i think your in a wee bit of trouble for the women comment ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
I have had to act like a woman today! No not shouting screaming, etc (hehehehe) BUT I have had to multitask!
Burning photo's onto disks, copying VHS to DVD, AND I actually picked up the goooooode boooke
Just managed to get to the second chapter where TONY goes to join JETHRO TULL! The member of the original line up to leave BLACK SABBATH!
6 ways is at Erdington not far from Aston
5 ways is at the top of Broad Street where it joins the Hagley Road
It is written Caff, despite it writen cafe, never mind still a good read!
oh yeah now andy whats going on man,,
ok the books read ,,and well its like my life kind of sort of,,not as many drugs no singing, but what he got up too,,the crazyness and torment ,,as i said kind of sort of,,if i wrote a book it would be crazy like that,,
and now the book ,,well i knew alot of the stuff as we all did but it was great to hear it from ozzy ,the other side of the coin instead of the ungrateful papparazza fuks who dis any one who stands taller than them..any what a great read ,, i was totally enthrawelled with every page,,and i think i dropped a tear when he talked about the accident wich ,,well you know,,,so now i can honestly say that ozzy for me is still the ledge that i knew he is,
