Ozzy at BlizzCon tonight

here's an article about who's gonna play with him tonight. I'm curious if this is true.

Hey Andy, Youtube has most of the video footage. And if you google Blizzcon, you can find the show and interviews on video as seen by fans or pro recordings. :o) I wish I would have had the equipment to have taped it.

Who will share this one with me with a disc then?

yep...gotta love the big lunk. he sure is a lovable one. and he was so excited at blizzcon - even though post show in his interview he did seem a bit confused with the elaborate world of video gaming. honestly left me wondering if that love of video games that got started so many years ago to kill the boredom on the bus with Randy etc., stayed with him or not...it sounded like he hasn't a clue about all the goings on.

i think i'm just going to zip my lips, and wait and see. if nothing else gus will add a difference to the sound...and if the results are not pleasing to Ozzy, the ultimate connoisseur preparing the way for fans... you can't tell me that he'll be around after the release of the next Ozzy CD. someone else will be. and as always, there'll be magic!

yeah ozzy is f***ing crazy. i love ozzy

well said gimp, we have to wait for the album to see what Gus G. puts into it. It's about the personal style of the guitar player that is important for me. And I dont know how much of a personal style Gus will develope. I might just take some time. For his Blizzcon appearence I cant really tell cause the guitar wasnt loud enough. You couldnt really hear it at parts. As I'm a die hard ozzy fan as well I'm sure Oz picked him for a reason and I do trust his musical desicions. That for I'll wait until I make my final personal decision about Gus.

yes you are right the live performance is the best way to get the feel of the proper sound ,, maybe gus was a bit put off by legendary zakk and quivered a bit,,lets just say we disagree on that and wait for the upcoming album-- it should be interesting to say the least-- as you know im a die hard ozzy head as you my friend, and i will go with what ozzy wants..yes gus's flare hasnt reared its head yet but will wait n see,,im not trying to convince you as the world is a better place with the difference of opinion, well this time anyway ha ha ha ha ha

Well part of why I question Gus G's sound is due to the live performance at Blizzcon. Almost any well trained, or talented guitar player can come of sounding not just good, but great in the studio. However its the live deal that sells that package for me, if you cant deliver not just the sound but enthusiasm, which IMO Gus didn't deliver at Blizzcon, then why should I really get, or be excited??

But if Ozzy does indeed go with Gus in the studio, as usual it should be interesting to see what we all shall get...

Agree, Scapegoat. Gus G- lack of energy, craziness, style...mayby just haven't accustomed to the Ozzy's way of perfoming... is he a guitarman who will play on Ozzy's new album? Ozzy really sounds very good much more freshed... really dying of curiosity what a new album with a new stuff would be...

well scapes hows it going,,hmm well this time i have a bit of a diferent opinion,,now the gus guy sounds diferent but remember he is doing someone elses music ,,if he is on the next album we'll chat then and maybe i'll agree or maybe you might like him,,,yes there are much better guitarists but it depends on what ozzy needs at the moment and what he is planning for us,,i still cant wait for his next album ,, im HANGIN for it--- cheers scapes

Sorry not all that impressed with Gus G, I mean not bad, but I feel Ozzy can find a better guitar player than Gus G. Plus what kind of name is that??

I thought the blizzcom performances sounded pretty decent over all, Ozzy sounded better than he has in the last few years thats for sure.. However the band I thought should have sounded fuller and should have had a bit more beef to it, it sounded as if there was not enough low end, better said bass for my liking..

But despite all that I enjoyed the s*** out of seeing the master, and I am proud of him for moving forward and trying out new blood. Something I have felt he has needed to do for a long, long time now....

btw, I dont know if anybody here already knows that Zakk had to cancel his tour. He's seriously sick. He's got bloodclots in his lungs.

Hi Girls

I put the word around, and I forgot to pay per view, so how can I save a copy for posteriety? hahahaha

i checked out gus on youtube before with his earlier stuff,so for me its easy not to think zakk this and zakk that,, yep gus was great and his own man,,when a band has a line up change i try to accept them for what they are doing now,,although when a singer moves on or god forbid gets a slight case of death its hard for me to accept this vocal change,,so in those cases my recomendation is a name change,,
anyway getting back to blizzcon ,,loved it loved everthing i have seen,,you go ozzy,,,and young yuto,,your amazing little dude,,keep it up

And I thought Gus G did fine. He isn't Zakk Wylde, and I think people measure him by Zakk. "Well, he didn't have Zakk's flair. He didn't move like Zakk...blah blah blah." Zakk wasn't as polished in his younger years playing with Ozzy. And sometimes it's rehearsed, and not so spontaneous and real, you know? I liked the feel of something new too.

And besides! Gus is Gus, a phenomenal guitarist, his own man with his own style. I'm sure it will take time for him to relax and meld onstage with Ozzy and vice versa. They'll work it out...they are tight, energetic...and DAMN I JUST WANT TO HEAR SOME OF OZZY'S NEW STUFF!!!!!!!!!!!!

ps> The drummer Tommy Clueftos did a spanking great job with the band too. They were TIGHT! Hats off to all of them.

I LUV YA OZZY OSBOURNE, ALWAYS HAVE, ALWAYS WILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I watched the show too LD, and I agree - Ozzy looked clear and it was such a pleasure to see him perform I just about squeeked and had a haht-attack (LOL) :o). Such a fox...OMG. The man has it going on, he is one good looking hubba hubba.

Gosh I have missed seeing new footage of him.

One of the comments I read on the link you sent earlier ... rrrrrrrrr. One about where his hand was on the little prodigy. WTF is up with people nowadays? I thought that was great of him, very cool, and I'm sure everyone else thought it that way too. This person that said that is obviously full of malice towards Ozzy. I'm sooooo sick of reading the crap. That little kid got a view of the crowd that will stay with him for a long time ~*. Not to mention a memory of playing with one of rocks founders, a legend. That will be in his heart forever. Captured on film and video.

I noticed some of Ozzy's vocal range has changed, which is cool. His later songs are written to his new range, some of his older ones go to a higher range he didn't seem comfortable with - or he didn't want his trademark voice breaking to be heard. I for one love it when it does, and wish he wouldn't worry so much about that. He's fu#king Ozzy Osbourne.

On that link too - oh yea. Someone commented how "safe" his song selection was...I mean, damn, wtf did they want him to play? His more elusive hits? To a crowd that would likely ONLY relate to those songs of his that he did play, and some of those not even?

Damn. Ya know???

One little interview at Blizzcon

I watched the whole show and it was awsome. The band sounded great. Gus G. was really fitting in.
Anyway, love you Zakk and will never stop to listen to BLS.

a new crowd for the ozzman--well i think there always there,,,,he will always be a crowd pleaser and a venue filler

Woah i just watched some videos from it! I think Tommy and Gus sound amazing! I was a bit unsure what i thought of not having Zakk, but I think Gus sounded awesome.

Here are the first excerpts of last night:

I missed it unfortunately. That is a pretty cool soundcheck though! Ozzy sounds and looks really good! It's nice to see him in a red shirt :) lol

To anyone who saw it, how was the Pro-Shot and how long a set did he play?

don't know about the songs but you can watch online.
.

and it is true I found the soundcheck:

Awesome! I can't wait to see Ozzy play with Gus and this little kid at the end of the show. Anyone know how many songs they usually play at the closing concert? Hopefully Ozzy gets to play more than just a few songs because I'm dying to see how he is doing lately and I'm even more excited since this is going to be a Pro-Shot show! ^__^
