I hope that i have helped you out

I know that we gave them what for at Stamford Bridge! Mind you I was Blond once! hahahahaha
wasnt the last battle at lindisfarne hmmmmmm
Yes the Vikings were wireley old folk, WHO Mapped a lot of the new world well, before Columbus chanced across an old map, and played his sponsors. It is reckoned that Columbus had already been to the Americas with the Orkney/venician folk.
Stamford Bridge was one of the last ones in 1066, as King Harold had to march there, strut his stuff, and get back to Hastings! If his men had not followed the Normans (former vikings - Norsemen) down the hill there would not be any French in the English language!
i'll join you!! lol

when i die i want to come back as a pet cat!!
yes mate they did get to america,, the sons of eric the red ,,leif and torvole ,,i dont know how to spell torvole,, oh well yes the victors mostly wrote history,,the last battle i think maybe was at lindisfarne,,the english had enough and set a trap and waited,, they use to pay off the vikings and got either sick of it or low on cash flow,,so the trap was set,and that was in the middle of the 14th century,,,, hey but there was more to vikings than rapeing nad pillageing,, they farmers, travellors ,setttlers ,,they went every where ,the map of there time told them there was land all round the water,,very ingenios bunch of guys
Keep it in the familiy, I would hahahaha. The vikings believed many thing, and the english chroniclers were obvioulsy biased, as with any victor! OK they were biased before the Vikings stopped raiding, raping and piliaging! It is reckoned that they got to America well before the faker Columbus! They also reckon the knights templar and even the romans got that far well before the faker Columbus!
it must be said that the Vikings were eventually converted to christianity! Ok times were different then, but one of them married into a christian family, and the rest is history! I almost bought a book on Viking mythology yesterday and that was £2. So I bought the book on Ozzy , which was subtitled " the stories behind the songs" by Carol Clerk.
Anyway, I MUST GO AS TOP GEAR HAS STARTED.
the first item is about the ford Focus RS, I do not know thwe rest as it has not happened YWET, so Goodnight for NOW!
and the viking period was from the 8 tillthe middle of the fourteenth,,about six hundred years in my book ,, hey but before the 8th there were still that type of peoples ,,they only got wrote about from the 8th by the english maybe,,could be wrong on that maybe we'll have to ask odinsvanguard
i hate to disagree but im from that bloodline too,,and i'll leave it alone as you may think your right as me too,,i know the burials were of fire but do you think most of them were,,just dig a little deeper
actually Gimp, not to dispute this without reason but i do know the facts of my heritage fairly well. many Viking did get cremated. there were land based cremations in graves shaped like longships and sea based ones in literal ships. there are graves, yes. because burial was also acceptable. but that does NOT mean there were not cremations common to the Vikings during "the Viking age" - 8-11 Century AD. check it out, and tell me if i am wrong.
Here's one quote regarding a Norse cemetery:
"Depending on the burial customs of the time of each burial, the Iron Age grave was covered with a mound, and the Viking Age grave was a cremation grave with a stone surrounded perimeter, inside which the deceased was cremated."
I can't seem to see you baby ... although my eyes are open wide ... but I know I'll see you once more ... when I see you, I'll see you on the other side
well said mate,, make the most of what we got,,,
oh and blades not many vikings went the way of flames and sea,,there are plenty of burial sites around
I'm sure that there are several of us here that have stories about "experiences." I had mine when I was 21 and my best friend died. I thought a lot about what happens to us after that event. Now that I've been to the edge twice in less than a year, I really have no interest in philosiphizing - no, speculating about the hereafter. I've had the luxury of making my peace, and now living for today is the most important thing. The rest doesn't matter, I know for a fact that I don't control it. Maybe we return again as a carbon-based unit, and maybe we don't. What I do know beyond the shadow of a doubt is that the earthly existances that we have are limited, they will come to an end. The only thing that I'm really interested in now is making the best of the time that remains, no matter how long that is.
i have seen far too many movies showing the maggots and so on with human decay, no thank you. sounds very organic, but the thought creeps my @ss right out.
i believe the way of the native american and viking is more sensible...flames return us more quickly to our primal state of "dust and ash forever," in the words of Ozzy.
I Can't Seen To See You Baby
Although My Eyes Are Open Wide
But I Know I'll See You Once More
When I See You, I'll See You On The Other Side
Yes, I'll See You, I'll See You On The Other Side
Leaving, I Hate To See You Cry
Grieving, I Hate To Say Goodbye
Dust And Ash Forever, Yeah
Though I Know We Must Be Parted
As Sure As Stars Are In The Sky
I'm Gonna See You When It Comes To Glory
And I'll See You, I'll See You On The Other Side
Yes, I'll See You, I'll See You On The Other Side
hey i always thought you should get buried in cloth too,,why not give back to mother earth,,i mean all our lives we take take take ,,so give it back,,,,shroud burial for me,, when ya dead your fukin dead so who cares how many worms feast on the flesh,,my opinion and thats it,,hey if we all dropped dead at the same time ,no one could bury us or burn us ,, and when you die your own death who's to tell you that everyone is not dieing with you,, it'd be the death of everything you know,,the death of your world,,i would die a thousand deaths if my beautiful loving wife died,,,so who dies when someone dies ,,we all do
i wish i could come back as a beatle. id come back as john lennon! lol.
hey, guys!!! =D sorry ive been gone for 2 weeks -____- i got into trouble for sitting down at the dog park! whoop-ti-doo.... anyways, so whats happenin? =3
I have worked in Water Treatment. Luckily I was not involved with solid waste!
Up the chimney is the easiest way. Then respectfully scatter/deposit the ashes and that way you do not leave a big ediface for nobody to look after!
As they say, we come from nothing, with nothing, and we leave the planet with nothing. OK Monty Python came up with the line, but it is true,is it not.
so in light of that - you might come back as beetle who's eaten by a mouse, who's then eaten by a snake. who then poos you out onto a patch of dirt (with a various assortment of mouse bones and beetle husk). and on that poo a flower seed flying by in the wind sticks to it and grows into a beautiful purple and green thing. much later (when the flower dies), you're carried on the wind in a piece of pollen, then stuck to a cloth a picnicking family spreads on the ground. then folded up and carried home, shaken out into their yard, and grow into another flower that is visited by a bee. so now you're in the bee and come out as bee poop, gathered and put into a glass jar and stored on a grocery store shelf. until a shopper see's your bottle and you're in the cart. and her teen son spreads you with some peanut butter on bread. and now you're human poo, flushed down the toilet into the sewer system, floating on the water until a rat sees you and smells the sweetness floating by and eats you for lunch. then you're rat poo. [to be continued]...
so if you are, why embalm bodies and stick them in airtight caskets for a slow thousands of year decay. talk about a hideous practice. why not burn the husk and it's done. no maggots or skulls with worms and beetles crawling out. clean, pure, done. unless you're into the more organic experience...then just use the cloth tarp and let mother nature take care of the rest.
well can i debate that statement kala ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha yes cecilky is full of some thing ha ha ha but i dont think its wisdom
cecilky you are WISE
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha yes you will then ha ha ha ha ha ha
I'll Be dead!
and andy theres no knowing just speculations, but my friend your not on your pat,,, many of we are with you
my eyes are open , i understand all spirituallity , and yes it makes me sad too when im not understood,, i am not what i once was, i am now on my own journey to know myself,, im the only peson who can steer me in the direction i am,, i am the engineer the operater of the shell i have borrowed, til i part with myself i can come to an understanding that there is more of me to know,, i search not for the seven keys but for my own awakend enlightenment , and sometimes lonelyness is a treat tis art ,and the art of knowledge is freedom
I have seen enough death, to leave it alone for quite some time. Friends and family. When you see a loved one in a hospice say that they are not affraid to die, it sort of brings it to you. (Must control myself now at the thought!) Touching, but get you right down there having see them fade away, it is not a nice feeling. No matter how many funerals that I go to, it is always when the curtain surrounds the coffin, I find the hardest part.
YES I believe that we are not alone, and there are spirits/alieans etc looking over us. I have yet to finish the DAVID IKE book the Robot Rebelion. OK I am not a big fan of his, but if we read various histories then it is clear we have been visited from outer space, and it is suggested that humanoid race was impregnated by a different allien races, hence the basic function, but different characheristics. Read the Bible, Torah(?), Ancient Egyptian writtings, The Book of Enoch, The South American peoples belief systems! The Dogon People of Africa, the epic of Gilgamesh, to name but a few. They may open your eyes!
Couple this with the fact people have seen apporitions on Batttle Fields of soldiers from centuries ago, and some not so long ago! They say some buildings are haunted! I will believe them when I see one or more of them, but until then I will keep an open mind!
So keep an open mind, as until it happens none of us will know for sure!
yea, well sometimes it's a question of spirituality and what you perceive as truth. and why do some always believe they "know" truth, when does anybody? i mean, come on.
and gimp, i know it must be tough with your mind. and that makes me sad too. i can relate to what you say because of what i have recently experienced with the man i have been living with this past six years.
mensa also said i was into my sanity that much i was insane
there has been studies when a person has a death experience they see the light ,,scientiffically speaking we all get a flash of light before we die, its chemicals ,,,,,oh and the mensa you are talking about kicked me out because my beleifs are not of this earth or are they ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
this guy told me that what happened to me was a mini-stroke. and the light i saw was the inside of my eyeballs and the light trapped there when my eyes did a 180. and the feelings i had were those of near death, when all things are intensified and non-sensical. he said all dying beings have those sensations. hmmm.
i had an experience once where i was free of my body and 3-D, yet was still distinctly myself and i was interacting with a spirit that i was at peace with, unafraid of. it was of the purest, whitest light. it was wisdom, truth, honor, integrity, to a degree i can't even explain other than to say that i felt an immediate and intense feeling of awe. because what i've seen in this world of those things (wisdom etc) have been extremely washed out shades of them pure.
it was asking me if i had had enough and wanted to go. because i had cried out asking whether there was anything real, good, kind...and wanted to know if all i read about in an old book was just a nice story.
anyway, because of my 6 year old son i said no, i wanted to stay. to teach him of the things of life. that i did not want him to know a reality where he was the one to find me gone, and be traumatized like that. and left alone in this world without my love. i was not asleep, i was sitting up in my bed, and saw what i can only describe as a dimension of sorts collapse from being all i was in to a sphere in the corner of my room in which i saw this light, and then pop it was gone. and my heart was racing 1,000 miles a minute.
for a long time after that i couldn't figure out why we live when there is such a being that we could be with instead. and i felt the 3-D and its ties, and was aware of it's linearity, over-simplification, and couldn't get over the sense of loss of the beauty of that being. but at the same time i realized, looking at my sons face, at the sunrise, at the flowers, birds, and trees, that this was all the living 3-D canvas of incredible artists who've created this world for us to experience. and we are occupying bodies which tie us to this dimension so that we can experience joy, love, happiness, and one another in a physical sense. it is a huge blessing.
and yet, in the midst of that miracle, there is darkness. evil. how can that be accounted for?
well ozzien, i guess what i'm poking at regards the duality i've noticed in existence. dark and light. half wondering is it's random that these things from both sides happen to us. or, is it purposed.
i wonder, are we watched. by benevolent and hostile spirits. and is a tally kept of how we respond...aka is this a test. maybe of how we mature or behave. a picking of the team, based on what our life is. or is it simpler than that. is it just a preference for and growing in what is nature within.
i wonder, is there a plane we proceed to when certain lessons are learned? do we come back randomly as a fence post or grain of sand...like Andy J and Gimp said, because all of existence is carbon so it lives on. and even though we are different, we are not scattered. or are we. i'm not sure.
yes i think his true colours are flowing--- about time
hey Andy, philosophical post! very nice
carbon based yep,, and im a little insane based as well
We are ALL STAR children. We come from the stars and we wil return there when the time is right, and not before. We are all Carbon based just like the stars!
yes there is somethin, 82 i beleive what we have done here will determine our fate or destiny,,and out of everythin i have lost i miss my mind the most
so, you all want to lose your brain
im still comin back as a table cloth
