I love Diary of a Madman in it's entirety. I also love Blizzard alot. Ozzmosis and No Rest for the Wicked run close behind. And now today, I love Scream in it's entirety.
I find it hard to say one is the best. Each holds a piece of what Ozzy has been over the past 30 years.
Well it's hard to say since he is the Prince of darkness, legend everything he does is amazing! creator of metal!
I love ozzy since I came outta the wound 17 years ago. I own every ozzy & sabbath album and dvd. I got to see ozzy live with Rob Zombie in 07'. He kicked us! true shows man! greatest. my favorite singer.
Top Three: Blizzard of oz, No more years, Diary of a madman
His recent stuff is hardcore he gives these young punks the run for their money.
Long live ozzy! immortal!
if you listen to the CD, i think the prevalent reason this CD didn't appeal was the backup singers that sound really immature and falsetto sounding, they really are stupid and make the CD sound lame. if the music was redone where they were not so lame sounding it would improve things immeasurably. Ozzy grooves on many of the songs on the album - i just think people are thrown with that. and the song where the timing is off is HORRID. not sure what you can do about that other than take the dog outside and shoot him. damn. Ozzy should have had someone else doing that song with him - guys who could play the stupid song.

did i ever tell you opinions are like @ssholes, we all have them, and they often stink?
wordtank09... i'm familiar with all the songs that Ozzy is singing in Under Cover. i grew up listening to them. My biggest issues are with Sunshine of Your Love, All the Young Dudes, and Fire.
On Sunshine of Your Love...only during the first verse from "It's getting near dawn" to "my dark (dawn) surprise", Ozzy's voice sounds nasal and obnoxious. I like his vocals on the rest of the song. However, his vocals can't carry the song. The backup vocals particularly SU-CK - they are TERRIBLE, and make you cringe. The band S-U-C=KS on their rendition, their timing is off and they are so NOT TIGHT so their sound makes you cringe even worse. i am amazed that these are seasoned musicians playing the instruments - that it's on a released CD is amazing. they HAD to have been on drugs or completely drunk when this was cut and approved for release. it's very badly made.
On All the Young Dudes Ozzy sings great - but the voice talking drives me bonkers, it absolutely RUINS the whole song. i do not like how it was done at all.
Ozzy sings Fire great and the song is tight, and sounds good. There's a bad@ss guitar solo on the song which i don't recall being in the song to begin with, so that was distracting kind of - but it does sound cool. [too bad Ozzy can't get solo's like that on his other stuff]. When Ozzy (or someone) sings "oh no" in a screamy falsetto voice, it's stupid, flat out, and simple. When Ozzy sings "You're going to Burn" towards the end, I don't like that part either. I would have not had that screamy falsetto tone back in there for that either. I like how he ends the song though - and his laugh.
by the way? you can listen to his songs here for anyone that's reading this and doesn't have the CD:

wordtank09 says: It [meaning Under Cover] didn't translate too well for me personally.
Heh heh....i have the same linguistic issues myself, but for two or three songs he put on there! like Gimp says, the CD grows on you (kind of like a fungus???) but my initial take on the CD was not this instinctive "wow" like most of his other releases.

Like most folk have said here, all the albums in one way or another kick the proverbials, but I do wish that he'd kept the covers collection (Under Cover) as a bonus disc on his "Prince Of Darkness" boxset, instead of releasing it again with some other covers added. It didn't translate too well for me personally.
"Ozzmosis" is an underated album, some awesome tunes there although the demo version of "See You On The Other Side" for me is the better version.
Looking forward to hearing some new stuff, have a feeling we'll get something next year.

"Life's a journey, not a destination"
the best one is the one that i haven't heard yet, because it's still to be created. and, i hope that is something that happens for years to come.

Welcome at the board tinkertrain.
.
We're just living one hour apart from each other. Nice to see someone from France over here.
I see you love Ozzmosis. Thats one of my all time favorivte, too. Its so various.
:
Hey, are you going to the Heaven and Hell show in Karlsruhe in June? I'm there.
Just checking out how good Dio really is :-))
.
For the rest of the albums. I put them in sort of my personal categories:
First:
Diary
Blizzard
Ozzmosis
.
Second:
NMT
DTE
Black Rain
.
Third:
No Rest
BATM
.
Fourth:
Ultimate
(I go with Ozzy here. Its the only bad album he ever did. Jake is great. Ozzys good but no song is really working for me)
.
Under Cover doesnt have a ranking to me. I see it as a sort of a side project. But I enjoyed it.
According to me, Blizzard Of Ozz is Ozzy's best, because of the genius of Randy !
But With Zakk Wylde, for me, the best is Ozzmosis because of the greatest riffs ever ! All the songs are awesome on this album.
I actually know all his albums by heart (except Under Cover which I think wasn't useful but anyway...) and I love all his songs which make you understand that Ozzy is the best heavy Metal singer and that will be for a very long time !
Ozzy, you endlessly rock and keep rocking anyway !!!!

See you on the other side !!!

The darkest
The darkest
Hard to say which one is the best. I like all OZZY's albums. But if to choose from the best they are 'Diary of a madman' and 'Randy Rhoads- Tribute'. The newest Black rain is on top too but it is OZZY's late style which is different from his early one.
"All my life I've been over the top,
I don't know what I'm doing,
All I know is I don't wanna stop"
LONG LIVE ROCK'N'ROLL and OZZY
We all know it's Blizzard followed by Diary, or maybe the other way round for some, but after that, mmm, well I'd have to go No Rest for the Wicked, love that album, and loved the tour, saw the band 3 times on that tour, ahhh great memories.

No Rest For The Wicked
If I had to list my favorite to least favorite Ozzy albums, it would be the following
1.) Blizzard of Ozz
2.) No More Tears
3.) Diary of a Madman
4.) Black Rain
5.) Bark at the Moon
6.) Ozzmosis
7.) Down to Earth
8.) No Rest for the Wicked
9.) The Ultimate Sin
