He is and has been the Godfather of hard rock/heavy metal (that one is for you OZZYjohn) :-) that when he finally kicks it (hope to God not anytime soon) the whole world with stop like it did with Lennon. Did you hear about the time that Ozzy didn't make it to the stage (New Jersey 2004 Ozzfest with Black Sabbath) and Rob Halford had to sing all the Sabbath songs with Tony, Geezer and Bill.. Man that was a f***ing nightmare.... They got so much s*** thrown at them that night... Someone threw a bottle at Tony and I cannot for the life of me believe that they just didn't walk off that stage....... The fans were really really pissed cause no Ozzy...... Of course it was 9:00PM and everyone "thought" that Ozzy was coming on stage.... OK Tony comes out at the set time and announces that no Ozzy and Rob was going to sing... OMG Tony had some real balls to do that.... I cannot believe that Black Sabbath even went for that one..........

I wasn't going to settle on ONE opinion, I was going to read many, but most of what I wanted to know came out of the man's MOUTH...not hearsay...and I paid attention during what dates what was said, because as we all know, opinions and feelings and thoughts change. What is today isn't necessarily tomorrow. Dont' believe he could have been stone cold sober all his life and STILL would have ended up with Parkinsonian Syndrome? All right, that's YOUR problem...but even he's come out admitting that at first he thought it was because of the drugs and drinking (that he got the shakes and everything else we saw on The Osbournes) later turned out not to be true, and AGAIN he came out and corrected himself. If it don't come out of Ozzy's mouth, more than likely it's hearsay. If you like that kinda crap, more power to you. Me? I like truth, I thrive on it. I dont like to make things up...just to suit myself so I can talk smack about someone.

The bottom line, do I respect Ozzy? YOU BETCHA! Do I think he's brilliant and surprisingly intelligent? You better BELIEVE IT! in 2004 Ozzy "got bronchitis and was 'unable' to perform for a nigtht" Halford answered the call again, like he did for Dio at the 1992 Costa Mesa shows. I have both the audio and a DVD of the 2004 show. In the begining the fans were audably disappointed but Rob kicked ass, Bill not Tony delivered the message. The band had such a great time. Everyone was laughing as Rob began the final chorus to Paranoid and Bill and Tony miss eachothers cues. A rare case of Tony smiling.

I love animals, in fact I prefer them to most people, it's just the horse racing crap I don't like, they can have all that, just give me the damn horse and a few acres, that way man & horse can truly be free, & enjoy the fact of simply being alive. But Ozzy didn't just not write most of the lyrics in Sabbath. Daisley wrote the majority of lyrics for Ozzy's first 6 albums, and even started for Ozzmosis. Now, with the initial Blizzard and even Diary Ozzy contributed more, especially in regards to what he had done with Geezer on the last two Sabbath albums. I'm sorry its just that Ozzy isn't a lyricist like Daisley, Geezer, or even Ronnie. What he IS, is a great singer.
