OK the truth is that Ozzy's guitarist is really Jimmy Hendrix. He is a ghost. He has been playing with Ozzy all this time. Doing a pretty damn good job at it I might add.....

:-) Love to all

I agree with you 100% on that analogy, obviously Zakk & Randy are different not just as people, but as musicians. I enjoy them both, but as you for different reasons. Randy was more technical, where Zakk is more about flair, kind of like a Hendrix, Zakk loves to make that axe of his squeal. Randy did his own little thing as well, he showboated sometimes, you can hear it especially on the tribute album, the live versions of those songs are somewhat different than the studio versions.

However I plead guilty of being partial to Randy because I was there when those albums with Randy were released, & I will forever be in awe of Randy, and sadly I was unable to go see him live, thats a whole other story in itself, lol. Again I have to say it is all about personal taste, or what you were exposed to first, as you mentioned you were only 2 days old when Randy died, so your first experience hearing Ozzy I figure was Zakk on guitar, so it makes sense that you would have a soft spot in your heart for him so to speak.

And for the record bro, I only do the wink, wink thing to razz ya a bit from time to time, its all in fun. So fear not, I love them both, & Ozzy wouldn't be the Ozzy we know and love if either of these two cats had never of worked with him. Zakk is awesome, that I wont argue about anymore, and I take back allot of the rash comments I made about him prior to seeing him live at this years Ozzfest, damn that boy ripped some ass! Zakk has made his mark & that is apparent, & as Randy he will be remembered long, long after he is gone, just as Hendrix, or our boy Dimebag, he has become a legend!

Thanks MegaFan I appreciate the courtesy. I mean I'm only 18 and been listening to Ozzy for along time but I really didn't know who his guitarist was. I seen Ozzy in I think it was 2004 when he was with Black Sabbath and I saw him this year at OzzFest and was amazed by Zakk's Guitar Solo.

ZAKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

I know you think I am an old hard ass when it comes to Zakk, but I want you to know I do like the guy, I just think he needs to step his game up a little bit, I am guilty of being a sucker for that mean ass hard core metal, its just one of my many, many faults!

Hahahahahahahaa!!!!!!!!!!

Peace bro!

Zack Wilde (sp?) = Ozzy's guitarist. If I remember right, Zack was actually a student of Randy Rhoades. His guitar skills are awesome (okay, Zack's & Randy's).

His current guitarist (since 88) has been Zakk Wylde (prodominately) however, there have been other guitarists

LMFAO @ country bumkin, now thats funny I tell you what! lol!

Hey I Like Ozzy I listen to Ozzy and Black Sabbath and Yes I'm 90 % Traditional Country the old country not the new pop country crap but I saw his Guitarist on Friday Night and was like WOW that guys Insane. I know who Tony Iommi was with Black Sabbath but hasn't Ozzy gone through a few guitarists since he's been a solo act I thought. And yes I have heard of a thing called the internet and I thought I'd ask the hardcore Ozzy Fans who Ozzy's Guitarist was. Probably is a dumb question but I guess I'll google it then.

...that, cancer, and heart disease. man does death suck or what. replacement anyone but michael moore...

Ah I am uncertain if Zakk was tutored by Randy, but Joe Holmes most definitely was.. But yet again I faintly remember it being said that Zakk may of had a lesson or two as well, but as I said that goes back a while. I may have to look all that up and read up on it again.......

<cite>"Being sober on a bus is, like, totally different than being drunk on a bus."</cite> - <strong>Ozzy Osbourne</strong>

I thought this post was a joke,
Zakk is the Man!!! and Randy well.............i dont even need to go there! but nobody gives Jake E Lee any credit man that guy can play too, Bark At the Moon & Ultimate Sin both great guitar work!

but like i said Zakk is the man!!!!

--
People think I'm insane, becouse I am frowning all the time!

I found it Zakk Wylde's his name but I don't listen to Black Label Society and didn't know he was Ozzy's Guitarist all I know is that he was Sweet !!!

Laughing hysterically! Michael Moore is a far left nut job; I find some of his past shows, & early movies somewhat entertaining, even educational. But that man has a hate for ole Georgie porgie that just wont quite, so much so his Fahrenheit 911 thing came off as nothing short of being like a Nazi propaganda film in my book. I am surprised he didn’t suggest George is an actual rat, or some sort of vermin, anyway he’s an idiot, as long as Michael, or lets say Al Franken don’t get the job, we gun holders may be alright after all!

lol

I will take your word for it bro, I wasn't 100% sure about Zakk or not, even with you pointing out he was only 15 years old. I know Joe had lessons, and you could hear it when you seen him live, Joe kicked ass on the Randy solos, it was kind of freaky hearing them played that well, nothing against Zakk. Zakk does a great job at them as well, but Zakk has kind of done his own thing with them, where Joe played them almost note for note, it was the best I have ever heard anyone cover those songs since Randy, but thats my personal feelings on the matter, someone else may think Zakk does them better, wink, wink! lmfao!

Ok I went and double checked to be sure, & you where correct outlaw Randy didn't give Zakk any lessons, instead I found this little bit of info, & found it interesting as hell.

<cite>Zakk Wylde's guitar-playing style is characterized by his use of pinch harmonics and wide/aggressive vibrato. His guitar soloing technique is usually characterized by use of the minor pentatonic scale, playing rapid box-pattern licks using strict alternate-picking, creating a very distinctive, choppy style of playing. Another notable feature of Wylde's playing is his liberal use of "chicken pickin' ," a technique which is usually associated with country music, and which is (comparatively) rarely seen in heavy metal; a technique he has stated as being picked up from watching Albert Lee.</cite>

<cite>"Being sober on a bus is, like, totally different than being drunk on a bus."</cite> - <strong>Ozzy Osbourne</strong>

OK you guys..... Not everyone knows about Zack...... Let's be nice here...... Ozzy has used on solo Randy Rhodes, Jakey Lee, Ian Gillan, Joe Holmes, and Zack Wild..... Zack has been playing straight with Ozz since fall of 2001...... Joe Holmes wrote a lot of the lead riffs for Down to Earth and Sharon at the last minute took Joe off the Merry Mayhem tour and put Zack on....... As for Black Sabbath.... Toni Iommi... :-)

There is nothing wrong with asking a question like that........ You guys would be amazed at all the people that don't even know who Ozzy is let alone Zack......... You guys..... come on..... :-) Give this guy a break.... We just got another Ozzy fan............. I think that is cool..........................

Love you Guys.... Rose...........................

<cite>"Being sober on a bus is, like, totally different than being drunk on a bus."</cite> - <strong>Ozzy Osbourne</strong>

To me at this point an time in music history not knowing who Ozzy Osbourne is, well its like not knowing who the president of the united states is, beyond being goofy. Ozzy is a world icon, even if you don't know his music intimately, or you don’t consider yourself a fan, you should still have enough common knowledge of who & what he is associated with. I am sorry but I almost find it offending to have someone go, Ozzy who????

In the infamous words of Charlie Brown! Good Grief!

I would hope it's safe to say that everyone here knows who Charlie Brown is, lmfao!

Get my point????

Ya I have to give Zakk credit he is not closed minded about experimenting, trying different technics, or approaches with the guitar. He is by far one of the greatest rock guitar players of our time, he is on the cover of Novembers guitar world, he looks crazy as hell, lol!

Oh and by the way my boys Mark & Willie from Lamb of God are on one of the other guitar mags as well this month, forgot what one it is exactly, maybe I need to lay of the weed myself, lol!
