Since you didn't mention whether it was bass or lead guitar, then the 1st guitarist was Dana Strum. Dana was there helping Ozzy when he hired Randy.

Judging by the question it's not the obvious Randy Rhoads, even though I always thought it was.

The first incarnation of Blizzard happened when Ozzy left Sabbath for a short period before the Never Say Die album. The guitarist was a guy called Barry Dunnery who is Francis Dunnery's brother who was the guitarist in UK prog rock band It Bites. Francis has a reputation as an awesome player and is well respected in the industry but his brother Barry could run rings around him. For some reason Barry never made it big time even though Tony Iommi managed his band.

With the disintegration of Sabs in the late 70's Ozzy set about creating a fresh band with Necromandus members featuring Barry Dunnery on Guitar. The line up recorded demo's in 1977for a proposed album but faltered and split up. Would love to get my hands on those demo's.

Later in 77 Oz recruited members from the band Dirty Tricks. This line up floundered too as Oz returned to Sabbath ousting his temporary replacement Dave Walker who sang the last track on Never Say Die. Fraser-binnie was later in Rogue Male and Andy Bierne was in Praying Mantis for a while.

I see several flaws in your story. Black Sabbath didn't disintergrate, Ozzy left Sabbath when his father died. Those weren't Blizzard of Ozz, it was a side project. Dave Walker doesn't appear on NSD. Swinging The Chain is sung by Bill Ward.

I wouldn't even call them bands. They jammed a bit and flirted with the idea.
