Ozzy in concert

Ozzy in concert is disappointing. I just saw him in Rapid City, SD. He doesn't play nearly enough songs and you tell his voice on the CD is definitely digitized. He also needs to play more off of his new CD. And also his t-shirts suck. C'mon Ozz for $30 you could at least sell t-shirts that don't fade after the !st wash. When I bought the shirt - it already looked faded. Cheap shirt. And Ozz you could have more color put into those shirts - the green in your eyes made you look freaky And Rob Zombie sucked. He's a weirdo.

Have you guys seen bootleg videos of ozzy on youtube from australia and argentina? He sounds excellent there

Ya zombie hasn't done any thing worth a s*** since devil music, that we can agree on I am almost certain.

I totally agree. I think Rob Zombie's music is devil music too. His concert has a lot of reference to the devil. He only has 3 songs I like, and I don't really care for the lyrics, I just like the tune of the song. But my friend says that he has heard that Rob Zombie bases his music on old B rated horror movies from the 50's and that it's all just a show. My friend says that he has heard that Rob Zombie doesn't even believe in the devil. I don't know. But why Ozzy chose to go on tour with him is beyond me. I think he could have chosen someone better. Because I really don't think that Rob Zombie is that talented.

if t-shirts were maybe $40 and good quality there would be complaints as well. merch is usually a lose-lose situation at every show in the world

me nope

I agree asticklestad, I enjoyed Robs early stuff, after that I lost interest, an also I agree with the cheesy devil s*** is getting way beyond old, I mean how many times can a band/artist get away with, or along by saying BOO!

A little of the spooky, eerie s*** goes a long way with me, I think some of these up & comers, or the newer bred should leave that macabre s*** up to the big boys like Kiss, Ozzy, & Alice Cooper, after all they pioneered it to begin with. Also may I add that for me one of the things I cant help but notice is how there is no originality found in most of todays bands or artists, just a lot of regurgitated bulls*** fills our music store shelves these days!

I say lets move forward, not backwards for heavens sake!

An for the record I enjoy great theatrics, Manson for example is a very visual experience as well as musically, but also I may add I never bought his albums due to the image/message alone, it was the music that sold that package for me, & will continue to do so for many years to come no matter the artist that falls back on that ideal for marketing themselves.

The thing with Zombie is that the music is average at best, and for me it has to be far superior for me to allow myself not to look at all that juvenile devil s*** as just a mere gimmick in order to sell albums, or concert tickets. Zombie needs to f***in rock, or just stick to doing his lame ass movies, boo!

Just my thoughts???

Peace all....

Well I debated whether I should even reply to your post Dear Mr. Anonymous, but I figured what the hell why not. Again I will state my position on the devil image in music, and by doing so maybe clarify my point a little better. All I hope is that you’re actually inelegant enough to understand what it is I am saying, instead of taking some sort of weird ass insult from it…...

First off I was listening to Zombie before a large majority of the music community even knew who the f*** he was. In fact I had the fun of going to see him open for Danzig on the devil music tour, and I remember vividly that almost everyone I spoke to at the show didn’t have a f***in clue who, or what White Zombie was, which is extremely weird in retrospect, considering how far ole Rob has come?

I was very fortunate to get backstage at that show, and I sort of half met Rob, I got to say hi at least, but as far as getting to really hang with him it never happened sadly enough.. So it’s safe to say I have a very good understanding of what, and who Rob Zombie is, so much for your high horse assumption that I do not! And yes numb nuts I know full well about Rob and his love for film directing & horror movies, as I am also aware of his love for underground artwork, something he and I have very much in common as I also draw, and my work like his is very underground. And when I use the term underground I am speaking of the artwork that appeared in head shops all across America during the 60’s and the large majority of it coming out of Height Ashbury, artists such as Crumb for example. Anyway I am very aware of Rob Zombie and what makes him tick, I don’t need any help from a tool such as you, thanks none the less!

So all I can say is that I am confused as to how or why you misconstrued my initial post, and somehow took insult?? Because to be completely truthful with you I in fact admire Rob a whole lot, and this is on so many different levels.

So with that made clearer now, I personally don’t get the whole Satan, boo s*** thing, and what you genuinely fail to understand is that this 40 year old hardcore music fan has pretty much seen it all by now! So please don't get me entirely wrong here, I enjoy it when its done well, and in moderation, but when its done over, and over again it just gets really stagnant, as well as monotonous with all theses juvenile tactics of habitually staying caught in the whole I am Satan rut, for f*** sake even Mick Jagger played the role way back with sympathy for the devil, and lets not forget our boy Ozzy and his whole macabre role playing he’s done over the years and years of his career now!

So once again Mr. Anonymous what I am trying to relay to you as well as everyone who may read this, is that this whole Devil thing, Satanism role playing has been beat to f***in death, and even though I enjoy many a band from the past as well as in the present that are guilty of this very thing, I am still somewhat confused as to why an artist, or band would allow themselves to be caught up in this whole rut, or would want to continue using this tactic as a true selling point???

Because in the end it’s all about the music, not how much you look, or portray yourself as being a Satanist, or the devil, its not about how much you piss, f***, or s*** on stage, its about the music!

When it comes to Rob’s later work, well it pretty much sucks ass these days, especially when it’s compared to his earlier material, and he and all the other mindless satanic drones can scream boo all they want to, but in the end it won’t sell them a album f***ing one when it comes to me, thats not unless the music comes first!

And as for Ozzy???

I never said anything degrading about my boy Ozzy, so you can f*** off with that assumption a**hole!

So other than my making that fact perfectly clear, this is where I stand on these issues, and if you or the Lord almighty don't like it, then I am so, so sorry!

Hey wait what am I saying here? Hell no I'm not sorry, because I can, and do think for myself, and I have never been one for the latest trend, or gay ass gimmick, to me you either rock, or your a NOT!

Ya the show is cool an all, but the music for me is just not as great as it use to be, don't get the wrong idea, I like Rob, and have enjoyed a whole lot of his music, hes alright in my book. But what my real point is that so much of the so called new metal isn't so new, especially the whole satanic vibe thing, its been beat to death, no pun intended. Thats my real point, and I spoke out because Rob is one of the more prosperous of that jondra, devil music ect... So I respect Rob, like I said especially is his early years, but in my opinion he has so much more on his mind these days than his music, and in my humble opinion it shows, if you know what I mean??

Anyway I am not anti-zombie, just kind of miss the old Rob, and also wish he would do something different than the whole devil vibe, booo! Rob is capable of a whole lot more I think .........
