Ozzfest 2011 - Comments? Bands You'd Like to See?

What do you think about the lineup for Ozzfest 2010?

Who do you want to see Ozzy play with in 2011?

Replies

I know me and my friends all want to see Five Finger death punch, Fear factory,Slayer, Hell Yeah, Deftones,Rob Zombie, Alice cooper, drowning pool, atreyu, alice in chains, and to hear some black sabbath songs from Ozzy along with his new songs. This is a killer line up. We all missed these bands and alot of us live, breath, dream these bands. They are our heros and we have to see them at ozzfest 2011 because to us that will attract alot more $ and fans. I heard alot of people over the past yr say how last yrs line up wasnt that good and these are the bands that they and i want to see. We want to keep coming back!! Ozzfest 2011 yeah Rock on!! No dio or blue oyster or motely crue! Rammstein would be cool or ICP again. BLS is great too wouldnt mind seeing them again. Any of the guys from Pantera, their bands is awesome and perfect for ozzfest 2011. Just another thing we hope the concert shirts are better than before!!

I'll get started.

First, not to say this as a disrespect to the talent of the bands being featured this year, but the type of bands that are on the tour are way too dark and speed metal for me.

I really had hoped that Ozzy would put together a tour with musicians from across the music spectrum, sort of along the lines of [this is a hyperlink ->]Vegoose. (You have to click "Lineup" to see the bands). Now that was a two day festival (which, by the way? was amazing!!!). But it didn't just stick with all the same kinds of band. So I could get out the freak from all the kinds of music I love. One hour I was the flower child with Franti & Spearhead. The next I was the metal head with Mastadon. The next I was the techno computer geek with Daft Punk. The next I was the political rebel with Rage. Ya know?

I have not a clue who most of the bands playing this year are. While I am open to hearing them and will, I am sure, have a great time regardless, I would not have paid $150 to see Ozzfest if Ozzy wasn't playing. That money (and trust me, in this economy it's tight) is for me to see him period. I am pleased that Rob Halford is there, and I am pleased that BLS and Drowning Pool are also. I am not real sure of Motley Crue. I have distaste for their piggy ways personally with women. We are the other 1/2 of human existance after all, and being filled with silicone isn't our only function. If Ozzy didn't play? I would not see any of those bands, even for the $10 lawn price. I wouldn't bother!

NO DISRESPECT TO ROB HALFORD OR BLS.

woot.

nobody have a pref?

going into ozzfest i was pumped about black label society ozzy and drowning pool and halford, well drowning pool and bls rained out. i didnt want to see motley crue, just not a fan. however i am just hours back from the show and halford (though he is a metal god and his performance proved so)dissapointd a lot of us hoping to hear some preist. but still good. crue on the other hand blew me away with their excellant stage presence. you may not appriciate their attidues or personalitys darkbladeus, but u know they put on one hell of a show. ozzy just rocked no suprise there.

Drowning Pool
Lamb Of God
Five Finger Death Punch

If you could hear "Other" kinds of bands...aside of some variant of metal, would you be game? Who would you want to see. And by other I mean NOT HARD ROCK. I didn't exactly answer that one myself. Perhaps later. But what do you think?

I want to See (((((Buckethead))))) in OzzFest2011

I would like 2 see Metallica, FearFactory, DevilDriver, Lamb Of God, Emmure, Winds Of Plauge, Upon A Burning Body, Born Of Osiris \m/ that would be an awsome lineup

I would LOVE to see the following at the 2011 Ozzfest:
Slipknot
Stone Sour
Sick Puppies
Marilyn Manson
Skillet
Metallica
Three Days Grace
His Infernal Majesty

That would be rad.

KISS, Rob Zombie, Godsack, 3 Doors down, In Flames, Alice Cooper, Psychostick, Manowar, Crimson Glory, Amon Armath, Bullet for my Valentine, Unearth, Three days Grace, Creed, Týr, BattleLore, Aerosmith, Five Finger Death Punch, Bad Company, Black Label Society, Slipknot, Iron Maiden, Lamb of God, Foreigner, Cradle Of Filth, Eluveitie,

2010 was pretty good but for 2011 here are the bands I would want to see
Second Stage
Hatebreed
In This Moment
Enslaved
Behemoth
Agalloch
Torche
Gates of Slumber
Main Stage
Black Sabbath Reunion with Ozzy Doing both eras as a tribute to Ronnie James Dio R.I.P.
Slayer
Deftones
Therapy
Biohazard
Gwar
Sepultura
with local Heavy Metal bands playing while the stages set up now thats what I call a Heavy Metal Experience

I would very much like to see Iron Maiden at Ozzfest 2011, I know about the incident in 2005 but Ozzy and Bruce should really just let it go. I would also love to see Judas Priest, Metallica, Dio, But unfortunately that wont happen, Megadeth and maybe a few others but I cant think of them right now.

I like the idea of the Second Stage remaining for "up and commers".

Main Stage, I think, should be for Ozzy/Sabbath Genre of music.
Complex situation.

"Monster's Of Rock" Tours already bring together the best of the best.

But I do think the following could happen, but they would have to lessen the
number of bands on the Main Stage:

Main Stage: Start Time 6pm (Rotating/Revovling Stage, so only 5 - 10 minutes between bands).

Rob Zombie plays 1-1/2 hours, then,
Alice Cooper plays 1-1/2 hours, then,
Ozzy plays 2 + hours.

I think that would be well worth the trip and price of admission, and one hell of a show!.(P.S. Ozzy is worth the trip and price of admission on his own ;-) )

Sorry, Iron Maiden is banned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers!

a haa haaa!!! :o0 a stretch to see those bands lol. you forgot Zeppelin tho.

I listened to 3 bands tonight that someone was going to see...Megadeath, Slayer, and Atreyu. The last was the only band of the 3 that I thought had any kind of talent frankly. The others ... meh. I'm not 18-26, male, and hormonally imbalanced lol. different strokes for different folks.

I guess I'd like to see a change, not just all "METAL" bands. or, if they are all metal, make it more like earlier years before it all became death/thrash stuff ...ya know?

I confirmed this with an employee at Oregon Health Science University (O.H.S.U. hospital, in Portland): that Ozzy gets Bot-ox injected into his vocal cords by a doctor here at the "Doctors Pavilion" before he performs. Otherwise he cant sing s*** these days.

1.MOTORHEAD
2.MONSTER MAGNET
3.SPIRITUAL BEGGARS
4.BLUE OYSTER CULT

Marilyn Manson
Spinnerette
A Perfect Circle
Deftones
Kidneythieves
Placebo

(I don't think any of those would be chosen though)

Well, I'll have to give a listen to some of those bands. But Blue Oyster Cult, wow. I saw them in 1980 and man were they boring in concert. Unless they've changed things up dramatically my vote is "hit the buzzer Charles, bannnnh. no way." I will give a listen to some of those other bands tho.

lets add rob zombie and alice cooper for the supersize ozzfest 2012 we all need....wow no smiley faces... bummer

I would love to see the following bands at ozzfest...MAIN STAGE- OZZY, SLAYER, CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, KORN, MUDVAYNE, SEVENDUST...SECOND STAGE- HATEBREED, LAMB OF GOD, CANNIBAL CORPSE, STATIC-X, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD, SWORN ENEMY.

Also, have you ever thought about having a mystery slot, so to speak, for the main stage? Hear me out for a minute. Have 3 bands, all of which who are somewhat similar to one another, and have 1 of the 3 bands play as a mystery slot for the main stage at random shows. No set order whatsoever. Just at random, whenever. Think about it. This would just add to the creativity of the show. I love Ozzfest and have been at every one since 02. It's time to take the top spot back on the summer concert throne.

Right on... ok, seems i was asleep

Here's another swipe (ha ha!!! wouldn't you be blown away if you saw all these guys?)

--------------------
Black Sabbath/Ozzy
Metallica
Megadeth
Halford
Impellitteri
Mudvayne
Five Finger Death Punch
Disturbed
Motorhead
Rob Zombie
Marlyn Manson
Black Label Society
Alice in Chains
Mastadon
DeathRiders
Three Days Grace
3 Doors Down
Close to Home
Jet Black Stare
Rains

Some bands i would love to see would be Marilyn Manson,Alice Cooper and Stone Sour but most of all MARILYN f***ING MANSON

Now that I've SEEN the bands...I still feel the same way.

Along the metal lines, these would be picks for a dream lineup:

=DEFINITELY Halford.=
Metallica
Godsmack
Black Label Society
Disturbed
Alice in Chains

Five Finger Death Punch
Mastadon
DeathRiders
Impellitteri

Then in the "other" category?

Three Days Grace
3 Doors Down
Close to Home
Jet Black Stare
Rains
Nickelback

My want-to-see bands would have to be :
Marilyn Manson
Murderdolls
Metallica

And, just to make the show even more scary, Jeffree Star :) But Jeffree Star would have to bust out some wicked music before then...and some black clothing...

I'd have to say put ZAKK f***ING WYLDE back in his band, or put BLS on the main stage instead of the little one. I'd even go as far to say maybe BLS as the band right before Ozzy. Also a Sabbath reunion would be amazing! I'd also like to see Judas Priest(not just Rob Halford), Killswitch Engage, Crooked X, maybe KISS, Danzig, Scorpions, definitely Anthrax, Hatebreed, Lamb of God, Five Finger Death Punch. I'd be sweet if Lita Ford did close my eyes forever with Ozzy.

going into ozzfest i was pumped about black label society ozzy and drowning pool and halford, well drowning pool and bls rained out. i didnt want to see motley crue, just not a fan. however i am just hours back from the show and halford (though he is a metal god and his performance proved so)dissapointd a lot of us hoping to hear some preist. but still good. crue on the other hand blew me away with their excellant stage presence. you may not appriciate their attidues or personalitys darkbladeus, but u know they put on one hell of a show. ozzy just rocked no suprise there.

Um, let me think here for a minute...
ok, here's my list:
Ozzy Osbourne
Ozzy Osbourne
Ozzy Osbourne
Ozzy Osbourne
Ozzy Osbourne
Ozzy and
Ozzy Osbourne.
That would be fine by me.
