Dear Ozzy please read

As for Ozzfest I am happy Ozzy that you & Sharon started this whole experience, but at the same time I kind of grieve to see you just headline a normal show one last time, just you the Ozzman & an opening band like in the olden days. This request is not for myself I must admit, I have had that experience more than on one occasion, but my kids have not. Ozzfest is great for the older kids, but mine are still little guys. So I dare not take them for several reasons, one being that not even all adults, let alone kids can stand the strain of the summertime heat, & large crowds that are a fact of any normal Ozzfest show, let alone the time range that it spans throughout the day, no little guys are going to sit & have the patience enough to wait for you to finally take the stage. I think Ozzy you need to drop doing Ozzfest for a while, & do a round of touring like you did when you did your so-called out of retirement tour. I was fortunate enough to have caught that tour in St. Louis at the American theater. It is probably the most intimate, & rememborable show of yours I have ever seen. Again its not for me that I ask this of you, its purely for my kids, I don’t want them to miss seeing you & having to say they never got the chance to see the Madman himself, kind of like it is for me & John Lennon. It still breaks my heart I missed out on all that, I hate that I was young & wasn’t able to go to one of Johns shows, mostly due to the fact that my parents didn’t want to fight all those huge crowds. So it is for these reasons I wish for you Ozzy to take a break from this whole festival thing, & come back to us via a few select club shows, of course one of them being a stop at St Louis of course.

Also if anybody else that has kids & feels the same as I do, please drop a line and let Ozzy know that maybe this could be a awesome event in itself...

Until it actually happens, one can always dream I guess????

Thanks Scapegoat

I have to agree. I seen Ozzy when he released "down To Earth" and toured indoors around Christmas. It was f***in awesome and I didn't have to wait all day to see the "Godfather". Ozzy and Sharon PLEASE consider an indoor tour similar to that one. My wife and I just got married on the sevens (7/7/07) and are taking our honeymoon to Kansas City to Ozzfest. We are such dedicated fans that we will brave the heat for the chance to see The Prince Of Darkness for what will be my fifth time and her first. We look forward to seeing the Ozzman in DesMoines again.

I hope Ozzy does read all of your postings. I've never had the opportunity to experience Ozzy in a small venue, but I have been to more than one of his shows. I currently hold tickets to this years Ozzfest and given what I've heard, I'm probably going to pass. How can we enjoy the master at work when we're having to worry about our safety (ie. forum postings regarding violence at some of this years Ozzfest shows). I was going to take my daughter who has loved Ozzy since she was a baby. Unfortunately, I'm not willing to risk her safety, even for Ozzy. Maybe in the near future Ozzy and Sharon will be able to schedule an old-fashioned tour. I'll be first in line and more than willing to pay $30 a ticket for it. It's really sad that in order to give free tickets, Ozzy and Sharon had to subject his fans to a bunch of bands I've barely heard of with psycho Nazi fans. I know that Ozzy can't control what kind of fans show up at the show, but scheduling bands without a maniacle fanbase would have been a good start.
Peace and Love and long live the Ozzman.

Thanks guys, & please spread the word about this posting, maybe if enough of us cry out for this we may actually get some attention, & Ozzy may think about doing it, lets all keep our fingers crossed anyway!

Thanks again all!

I think Ozzy is going solo after the fest is over. Not sure but that is what I was told. ;)

Goodbye To Romance

Scapegoat. I can't see Ozzy really ever saying goodbye. How many years now? This is the last tour? LOL Ozzy will be on stage till his dying day. I want another Merry Mayhem tour.... That ROCKED. 21 song set list in Tucson. Can't get much better than that.. Did anyone else catch that show? Man he rocked the house down then....

Hey goat... check your emails K? Needs to tell you some things............... ;)

Goodbye To Romance

Goodbye To Romance

After the whole biting the head off the bat in Des Moines back in the '80's and being banned from Iowa for 20 years, it was absolutely awesome hearing the Prince of f***ing Darkness end his Merry Mayhem show in Des Moines by saying..... "Lets not make it another f***ing 20 years, Iowa!!!! See you soon!!!" I agree, Ozzy... I love you man. I'll see you in Chicago on the 10th.. but still hoping to see you in Iowa again, soon.

We got some f***ing rock'n'roll to make, baby!!!

DevilWithRoses Did you catch the first show after he was hurt? That was a rubber bat. Did you know that?

;)

Goodbye To Romance

Ozzy I believe stayed in st. Louis after the bat episode, in fact that may play a part in him being so good about usually putting St Louis within the first few stops of his tours, past more so than here present. All I know is I wish he would come back and do a club tour damn it lol!

It would be cool if HE'D just headline a tour...i wouldn't feel that I just had to show up JUST especially for his performance....like I plan on doing to Ozzfest, should I actually be able to go. I dont really feel like sitting in God-knows-what degree heat in West Palm to see a bunch of bands that I dont know or care about only to see the Ozzman....I also think it would be less of a strain on him physically as well...but I dont know anything about touring so I may have that backwards...however, your idea is a good one. Hope sometime before retirement suddenly doesn't suck so much, he decides to do this.

Yeah Goat your right..... Ozzy did stay there cause he went to the hospital...... Do you know what happened at that show? You probably do....... Ozzy had rubber bats for his stage show.... He was biteting the head off of them and some dumb ass fan threw a REAL unconsious bat on the stage.... Ozzy picked it up "thinking" it was one of his bats..... Woops....... Off to the hospital... for rabie shots...... He didn't know that was real bat... I wonder if who-ever threw that up there ever got busted.....

Love You all..........

Goodbye To Romance

Thanks for the reassurance that I am on to something here by asking this of Ozzy in the first place. I understand Ozzy & Sharon's commitment to doing Ozzfest, but before Ozzy says his final goodbye, I think he should do a club show tour, via allowing us to get a intimate chance to say goodbye to the man, the legend, the immortal madman! I like you can hardly stand the heat, & even though I have enjoyed a lot of the opening acts at Ozzfest, there are some that I hardly think are worth sitting in 95 – 100 degree heat for. As for having heat stroke, there are very few bands I would be willing to chance that with. I also want to add that I love Ozzy enough to withstand the onslaught of the heat & crowds, but it just grieves me that because of these mentioned factors my children may never get a chance to see him. Ozzy will only be another icon on their wall that they never even had a chance to see first hand, kind of like the many posters of past legends that lined my teenage walls.

Peace

Well I am not sold on it was an accident 100%, if it indeed was thats cool, if wasn't thats cool with me as well, music is a powerful tool, & can rouse many emotions, people tend to do & say things that they would never dream of doing at any other given time, why do you think it's used in church, enough said there I believe lol....

My son's only turning 3, so the possibility of him knowing Ozzy as a current artist may actually be closer leaning towards the none...but ya never know...how old are your children? I put the radio on even at his young age and I expose him to EVERYTHING....and I do mean EVERYTHING, from pop to rock to country (yeah i listen to country, hubby's fault!) and even metal...he likes it all...he accepts it all, which is good.

As far as the bands, I'm just not willing to do it, ya know? Especially when i read an article where Ozzy himself actually voices his own displeasure with most of the new bands as he says they "growl" rather than sing...which I totally agree with. Not all, mind you, i'm sure he says that about, but most. So I'm still as of now still planning on going to Ozzfest, going JUST for Ozzy, and comin' the heck HOME...blistering heat is NOT my cup of tea.

Ozzy we hope you read this, and hope that you can find it within your time, energy and realm of possibility iwth granting us one more solo tour where it's just you, and us, your fans who love you so much and do our best to understand you and against all odds (and people who dont "get" you or your music) to defend you and your actions.....which is a full-time job in and of itself buddy, WHEN DO WE GET PAID!!!???

Just kidding! We love you Ozzy!!!!

I saw Ozzy in Detroit at the Fox Theatre the first time . . . .and it was awesome! That was before Zaack was his guitarist. I wasn't far from the stage. Next time I him was at Pine Knob (now DTE) and it wasn't the same - Would definitely be better for him to be the solo act!
It's cool that Ozz and Sharon created Ozzfest, but it is probably too hard for him now.
Yes . . . PLEASE do a solo tour Ozzy. I don't want to hear a bunch of new bands I don't care about either. . . I WANT TO JUST SEE THE OZZMAN AGAIN!!

Concert in my sity was... Ehhh, I can't find the words... I was crazy, I was mad then. My pen-friends made the banner "Back in USSR" and when Ozzy took it on the scene... It was fantastic. And now I cry, when I hear Ozzy's "I'm Here For You". And we're waiting Ozzy to Russia, to Petersburg again!!!))))))))))))))))))))))))))) Ozzy music is more than rock. It is new kind of music - Ozz-rock!

Thanks friend for your response!

I think Ozzy & Sharon need to be alerted to the fact that there are a whole lot of us that are ready for Ozzfest to be retired for a while. I understand that it is almost done out of tradition now going on so many years an all, but Ozzy fans are ready for a more intimate show I think. I was talking with my brother at the St. Louis show we had here on the 6th, and I told him that I feel that Ozzfest is something that even after he is gone will continue on, that people will always want to get together and celebrate what he has done musically, & to honor what he gave to all of us over the many years of his career. I am not asking Ozzy & Sharon to put a stop to it entirely, but only to kind of give us a break for a couple of years thus freeing up Ozzy to do other things, one of course being a club tour, & the other a new Sabbath album.

Speaking of the Fox, I had a buddy of mine see Ozzy at the Fox Theater here in St. Louis, he said Zakk got up on the head of one of there many statue's during his solo, pissed fox off big time, wished I could have seen that show, damn the luck lol!

Peace

Thanks for your response. The children are Josh 12 yrs old, & Tayler who just turned 13 the first of July. Tayler I think is now probably old enough to handle it, Josh on the other hand being all boy. Well I think it would only turn out to be a bummer trying to get him to be patient, as well as suffer through all the heat. I just wish Ozzy to realize that the kids, as well as us adults just want a chance to see him in a club, or a more intimate setting. Instead of him being so far away, looking like a little dot bouncing around on the stage squirting water at us. Just one more time is all I ask for; I along with my kids want to be able to see him, without going through all the festival bulls***. But that’s just my thoughts on it all. Again thanks!

I LOVE OZZY

I myself have had the pleasure of seeing OZZY in the smaller venues. I have seen him with RANDY. I have seen him at the US Festival in "83" with Brad Gillis, again with Brad, and 3 times with Jake E Lee. I loved him at every show. I have not seen Ozzy in so long. I seriously could not deal with all the other BS bands that would come before the long awaited appearance of the Prince of Darkness. I just think since he is getting up there in his years it is easier for him to only have to appear at the few that he does. Which really sucks for all his new fans.

I got my OZZY fix from back in the day. Don't get me wrong if I had the chance to go see him at an Ozzfest you bet your ass I would go but..............it would definitly be a long ass day waiting for the main event. As for having kids all of mine love Ozzy too. I have a 19,17,and a 15 year old they would be blown away.

If you love Ozzy.... Who are you????????

Goat...... I agree.... I feel that it is time for Ozzy to turn down the decimals and play more intimate shows now. He has surly made his mark and it will always be there. It is time for him to take a spin...... One a different direction.... We have seen him at his worst and his best and so now it is time to see him in a way that we never have. :-)

Love you guys......................................

I also got to see Ozzy do his club tour when he came out of his so-called retirement. It was probably one of the best shows I have ever seen, ever! As for seeing Randy, well I missed that chance, I wanted to go on the Diary tour, but my parents didn’t trust me to go, they were a little over protective to say the least, so I missed Randy. That’s the kind of luck I have, that’s why I don’t chance flying on planes to this day. Knowing my luck I would be on the one that is over due for maintenance, & would go down in a flame of glory crashing into some cornfield killing only a sweaty ass farmer & his plow. LMAO…. Anyway I have accepted the fact that I am Gods own personal animated cartoon character, it is the only way I can make sense of the crazy s*** that happens to me on a daily basis. Until next time, peace!
