Why?
Ozzy instills in his listeners a sense of appreciation that not only has longevity but fills a space in us so many other artists just f***ing lack. In the 70's we had LOTS of great rock bands but few actually 'Hit The Spot' as did Black Sabbath. These guys influenced my life and we all wanted to be like them. Tony's riffs and Ozzy's vocals, Bill's drumming and Geezer's bass. f***ing no one came close. "Rat Salad" : Bill is right up there with Bonham any day of the week. Bar f***ing none man. Kids today can't relate to the vinyl records getting worn to the point where they crackle skip and the stylus no longer works. Or the jacket getting worn in . If someone had a Black Sabbath record in my neighborhood, we were there fighting to just stare at the cover while listening to it.
Ozzy was so successful POST Sabbath as well. I'm truly happy he has Sharon, has controlled his tremors and voice challenges and that he has written a wonderful book which shares all of his personal life's experiences we all really needed to know back then. The wait was well f***ing worth it. And for this I am truly grateful.

Goin' home, late last night
Suddenly I got a fright
Yeah I looked throught the window
And surprised what I saw
A Fairy with boots on dancin' with a dwarf
Alright now!Fairies wear boots and now you gotta believe me
Yeah I saw it, I saw it
I tell you no lie
