I am a private guitar instructor and I've played guitar for over 20 years. The first song I ever learned to play was 'Crazy Train.' This was back in 84 or 85 I think. Since then I've learned a lot of other Ozzy songs as well as Sabbath's. The band I'm in covers a grip of Sabbath and Ozzy tunes. This years Ozzy with Rob Zombie tour will be the fourth Ozzy show I've been to, and I've been to some good ones, all right here in Portland, OR. Ozzy with Danzig and Sepultura back in 89 or 90 -ish? (I think). Ozzy with Korn sometime in the early 90's (that one got real crazy toward the end of the show). Then Black Sabbath reunion with Pantera. I think in the late 90's My memory gets a bit fuzzy trying to remember the 1990's : ) One show I regret not seeing was the "Bark at the Moon" tour with a little band called "Metallica" as the opening act in support of the Master of Puppets album. A friend of mine saw that one and likes to taunt me about it. I hate him when he does that. "Bark at the Moon" has always been my favorite Ozzy tune and I've enjoyed Jake's playing every bit as much as Randy's and Zakk's.. As a guitar instructor I always get a kick out of the kids I teach (mostly 7th grade up through high school) when they come in to a lesson and the new song they want to learn is "Crazy Train, Paranoid or Bark". It just reminds me that the music really is relatively timeless as far as metal goes. This year I'll be taking my wife and 10 year old daughter to the show. My oldest can't make it with us, however she has the distinction of sharing the same birthday as Ozzy. My wife and kids are as much of a fan as I am (one of the reasons I married her). If you've never seen Ozzy live, you're missing out. He's always delivered, even through some of his less healthy years. Great show, and great fun. We are and always will be a family of die hard fans to the very end. Peace.
