I am now 40 yrs old & I first discovered Sabbath when I was about 12, or 13. I have a friend of mine to thank for that, his name is Kevin. I of course back then was obviously at the right age for being swept up into the all the KISS hysteria of the mid 70’s, & me being a over zealous Kiss fan seemed to really drive my friend Kevin completely insane, & he was forever & constantly trying to turn me onto new & better music.

He finally succeeded in doing this by having me over to his house & cranking War Pigs until my head & ears began to bleed. This was a life-altering event for me to say the least, & I went out and began to buy, & digest every song of theirs I could get my little adolescent hands on.

I obviously connected with Ozzy because like him, I too also felt unwanted, misunderstood, & pissed off. Ozzy inspired me to the point that music was my refuge during my childhood, & I am happy to say it is just a big a part of my finding happiness & solace in my life today as an adult!

I unlike many of my high school cohorts I decided to grow musically & emotionally, I find it odd & somewhat sad that anyone would buy into the fact they must stop listening, or adopting to new ideals, or musical artist that have come after their official maturity into adulthood.

I will sum it up all here, Ozzy is the John Lennon of my generation, he is, & will forever be the single greatest artist of my time. I am honored that I got to once get his autograph, & that he was so great with my pregnant wife at the record signing. It was almost a billion degrees outside, & when he spotted her he got up off his seat & asked her if she needed anything, water, a chair, anything. So as far as I am concerned Ozzy is not just a great artist, but also a complete gentleman, I will always be in awe of him, & will always be grateful for all the great music & good times I have had at his shows. May the world never forget his name, or his music, & may God always bless him & his family!
