REVIEW

Live & Loud

Awesome music all collected together in one box, what more could you ask for? Does anyone remember the speaker cover and the illusion? I still remember the day this came out in the stores. The collector's box set. I had one snatched right out of my hands by an older patron who started preaching at me about the downward slide of the youth of the day. I reached around him, picked up another box and told him to meet me in the afterlife he was so sure I'd be roasting in, gave him a pat on the shoulder and went on my way. Then the damn thing got stolen a year later.

I've lost count of how many cassettes of No Rest for the Wicked I've gone through. I've only one CD of No Rest and still I play the cassette over and over in the car, eventually I'll put the CD in the car but the cassette is like a kid's 'boo-blanket' for me and there's no doubt I'll always have a No Rest cassette in my car. These are extremely powerful songs...even today in 2007, they still carry through, they still sustain, and they still give the same messages even if some of the faces are different now.

This is the album that started it all for me. I'd heard Black Sabbath and knew three of their songs by heart at this time, but growing up in a religious family such things were considered hell's handmaiden. I was ten when I heard Centre of Eternity and the rest, as they say, is history. That voice drifted out and snagged my young soul and I gave it willingly time and again over the years. I'd found a new love (or vice if you like that better) that I kept hidden because of the family's beliefs.

Mr. Tinkertrain...
Need I say more?? This album is one of my all-time favorites and Mr. Tinkertrain is one of those songs that just makes you feel like jumping and screaming and going f*cking crazy!
No More Tears is a loaded album, all the songs are awesome, the music is some of the best since Ozzy's solo career began, the beat, fluidity of movement in the music...yeah, it's pretty awesome!

REVIEW

Under Cover

Rocky Mountain Way
Oddly enough, growing up listening to this song, I like Ozzy's version MUCH better. It surprised me to hear that he was going to cover this song and it surprised me even more to hear his version of it. He didn't screw around with the song much, left it intact, that's nice.

In My LIfe

Even though I read all the reviews I can find, I never really take them to heart. My final decision is always based on how the music makes me feel. And let me tell you, this one makes me move! Ozzy has surpassed even my expectations with the new music. Of course, there's never been an Ozzy song that I hated (there are a few I have to 'be in the mood for', though) but this is definitely not one of those songs. I could wake up to I Don't Wanna Stop and listen to it in-loop throughout the day.
