The song Flying High Again made me want to listen to Ozzy. My favorits are Diary of a Madman and You Can't Kill Rock and Roll!!!!!!!

This was the very first album that I learned to play as a whole. I had a bit of a problem with Diary of a Madman, but worked my way thru it. The album epitimizes the Ozzman - AWESOME!!!

the combination between randy and ozzy was the reason that i got inspired to play guitar, and obviously i have become a neo-classical/metal player just like randy rhoads, and randy led me to children of bodom's alexi laiho heck yea!!!!!!!
My favorite track is probably S.A.T.O off of this album, but they are all beastly

I wasn't really big on this particular CD, but many of these songs sounded much better on Tribute.

Mother was stealing the money I earned. So, I hit Farther up on visitation day for this album. Farther put his nose up to the album cover as if Ozzy Osbourne was a joke. Ozzy Osbourne lasted because Ozzy Osbourne said he will.

This album was one of the presents my friends gave me on my last birthday.
It is special for me because when I unpacked it I was at a restaurant: everyone was listening the calm and monotonous music the owner put on... then I asked the owner to insert this CD in his stereo.
"Over the mountain" started playing and everyone started looking around asking themselves "What the...?".
Obviously before "You can't kill rock and roll" the restaurant owner already gave me the CD back.
This is why I'll never forget about "Diary of a madman".
Talking about the songs:
-Over the mountain is great. I listened at it in my father's car while returning home on THAT night.
The volume was so high that my friends out of the car looked at me as if I was a...madman (forget it...)!
-I enjoyed "Flying high again" more than my father did. Very amazing lyrics!
-You can't kill rock and roll is absolutely wonderful, I'm learning to play it on my guitar. Very enjoyable acoustic riff.
-I personally don't like "Believer" very much. Maybe it's the less awesome song in the album.
-"Little dolls" has very "strange" lyrics. Pretty good.
-"Tonight" is a masterpiece, nothing else to say.
-"S.A.T.O." is not bad, but I don't love it.
-"Diary of a madman" is the best track of the whole album. Extremely deep lyrics and musical variety.
When I listen to this song I shudder, but I don't know (live XD) (forget it too...) if it is for the sick lyrics or for the extremely beautiful music.
-"I don't know" is an enjoyable bonus track. Not a masterpiece, but still good.
Good job, Ozzy! You're great! And Randy too was! Well done, Randy!

Hypothetically speaking i personally maintain that this album would be the start for the unique sound that Randy would probably create!a combination of rock n roll and the gargantuan depth of classic music by the way he would knew!!personally speaking i believe that diary...... the track is an amazing idea of the socking mentallity of he people who understand things a litle bit different from the common mortalls!

This is the best album of all time to me, next to Blizzard of Oz. The musical talent on this album is simply outstanding and Ozzy at his best. Randy Rhoads makes this album as special as it is because of his amazing guitar playing, and anyone who is a Ozzy fan must be a fan of the AMAZING Randy Rhoads.

Diary of a Madman is just all together just one of the best works ever made in Rock History.

I can only hope that Ozzy will one day look at this. This entire album rocks balls, as does all of Ozzy's music, but it also contains, if I HAD to choose one, my favorite song ever: You Can't Kill Rock'n'Roll. My name is Dwayne Dail, and I am the 207th person in the country to be exonerated by DNA evidence. I spent almost 19 years in prison in NC for a crime I did not commit. I have been out for almost 8 months now. I just want Ozzy to know that there were many, many times when his music kept me motivated and that "You Can't Kill Rock'n'Roll," in particular, kept me strengthened through some very hard times. The lyrics are phenomenal. From a life-long fan, you rock, dude, and I have the greatest amount of respect for you as a person. Keep rockin!

one of ozzy's best albums

Randy Rhoads was the best guitarist to ever live, and the song "Diary Of A Madman" really proves it. May he live forever in whatever comes next.

You can't kill rock 'n' roll and diary of a madman are absolute masterpieces. Diary of a madman has all the emotion and passion, pain and pleasure of a man troubled. The end of the piece has all the ingredients of rock, classical, almost gospel, chanting and torture that most people at some stage in their life can relate to even if only in a small way. You can be taken away upon hearing these songs , very clever and very poetic. R. I. P. Rhodes !

A Masterpiece reason why not to live in a apartment, condo or townhouse with high end gear!

this is absolutely the best ozzy album, it's a pitty what happened to Randy, he would have a brilliant career with ozzy, he is the best guitar player in his solo career. this album is in my top5 from all, and that's saying a lot!!!!

Best OzzY song Ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MY fav song is "Flying high Again"...I remeber once coming home from the pub once, with some of my mates for a game of cards...I put on Flying High Again (as it is always a great party starter) on the record player (yes it was 1982) and cranked it up...little did I know Dad was asleep in the next room as he was put onto night shift...as Ozzy was singing 'Mammas Gonna worry....I've been a bad bad bay' out flys dad and freaked out yelling "no wonder you blokes are all F***ing Crazy!!!!" and stormed off to the bathroom...I said sorry Dad at the the time...(as the heavyest music dad would have heard to that date was Glen Miller's Ragtime Band)
I still get a laugh (25 years later) at the shock and horror on his face as he stormed in! thanks for the memories Ozzy and Randy ! from Aussie Gus...

This in my opinion is the best Ozzy record. Well at least it my personal favorite. I used to own this bad boy on cassette back in the day and rock out to it. I just recently picked it up on cd, the new version has re-recorded drum and bass tracks with Rob Trujillo(Metallica) on bass and Mike Borden(current drummer) on drums. It so fresh and crisp, its definetly worth buying if you own the original copy. Plus it's got Randy Rhoads on guitar, without records like this Heavy Metal music would be dead and there would be no such thing as shredding. 5 Stars
